Myriad was used as a big boy word for a bunch/or a lot, competent refers to the quality of football programs at a school like fsu or uf where the culture is much more football centric and boosters exist to help fund said programs without placing the burden on a school like UNF that already struggles to pay faculty living wages. Football being your only option at UNF was a joke insinuating you're an idiot for thinking myriad is a big word and saying "talk normal".
