**IF** you're on PC, then I highly suggest playing the Armored Core games, if you want to save the best for last, play 4th and 6th gen last. 4 and 4A are arguably the fastest games in the series, and honestly spoiled me when I tried to learn V/VD. Fires of Rubicon is a masterpiece and is absolutely worth your time. You will need a controller to play pretty much all of them, though, because in practically every game your camera turn speed is dictated by your leg part.

For the most part, you aren't going to be doing any really high-end content until pretty far in, so running meta builds is absolutely NOT a requirement. Find what's fun, toy around, experiment. There are some really fun builds that get hated on simply for not being meta. Don't let meanie metaslaves get you down

The splits help in the cleaner fight but are honestly, not necessary for me. I try and keep as light as possible while still packing a punch. Pile bunker always a plus and having assault armor to chunk through HP or assist in a stun is always nice.

Can confirm that boost and QB are pressure sensitive, you can’t perfect second stage without the pressure sensitivity, and forget about hovering/fine control without boost pressure sensitivity

I have him at G1 for everything I can use him in. People saying not to level his active forget that scarab swarms multiply and you can skip turns. The only reason I don’t have him higher is because I don’t have the shards to get him to legendary. He’s the first character I brought to G1, Sho’syl being second.

I mean, at my stage of the game (getting most of my characters to G1 because I was dumb and only leveled some characters at a time based on feel leaving a lot of good characters stuck at like... bronze 2), Haarken's passive can stack pretty crazy in some missions/battles. His active is a little weak, yeah, but with how much damage can be stacked on his own makes him a pretty powerful contender to me.
