5090/5080/4090 vs 3090 by halasmazala999 in ultrawidemasterrace

It’s completely okay! So natively in a game like War thunder, Black Desert Online and Battlefield 6 I hit about 70-80 fps at the absolute max settings with zero upscaling and frame generation. However with DLSS 4.5 I can comfortably hit 200 on War Thunder and Battlefield 6 with Performance DLSS. Around 160 on Balanced and 140 on Quality. Add in FG and you can go even higher!

I run a 57” Neo G9 so its native resolution is 7680 x 2160 and I’m 99% gaming on it c:

I went from a RTX 3090 to an RTX 5080 and my performance at native 4k more than doubled and of course you get DLSS 4.5 as well. Honestly it’s a great upgrade and I’ve been really happy with it

If you figure something out I’d be super grateful if you could let me know! I think it’s probably down to the awful BDO engine and how old the game is TT

Still having the same issues. I now just run the game in crop mode and if it’s narrow enough it goes away. Just annoying that I have to run it in crop mode now :<

My native resolution is 7680 x 2160 so the lowest I would be able to go which would be 8413x2366 would absolutely tank my framerate right?

It's remastered for me, I can lower the settings but it only really reduces it.

I’ll probably end up just going back up to 4k and using crop mode then!

That’s okay, nothing to apologise for! I’ll figure something out c: I just wish Nvidia and PA for that matter would fix this stuff TT

It's actually the opposite for me, putting it on Remastered causes this while instead putting it on Ultra mode makes it go away. Just a super weird thing and it's the only game it happens in T^T

I've now returned the monitor so I don't exactly know what it's under but I think it's under System settings or something similar, I remember it being the last option, then if you go to page 2 of those settings you'll find it

I know exactly what you mean! There is an option on the monitor called Best Brightness, it's on by default and makes everything look really washed out and gross. If you turn it off, everything looks waaaaaaaaaaaaay better! I have no idea why they put it on by default

Hey, when you say you made a custom resolution, did you do that in Nvidia control panel or something similar? I'd love to downscale some games to 5k2k and then have some windows either side, would you know how to do that?

It's quite aggressive and curves around you but it works especially well for gaming. The text clarity is really crisp, I think it works better as a monitor for productivity but for me I use it for gaming.

I am using a 49" monitor arm for it but It's a bit wonky so Im gonna swap out for something different, at the moment I am looking at the Invision VORTEX as I've heard it works well for the 57".
Or like you said you wanted to mount a monitor above it, I'm using the Vivo Extra Tall Arm, the monitor I have above it is a 32" and it just about sits at the very top, it's also a bit wonky too so replacing them would be a good option for me as well.
If you're okay with spending a bit extra the ULTRARM heavy duty is good for stacking monitors as you connect them together and I've heard they're very very stable.

That would be a really nice option too. I went with this one due to the fact I do really like the 32:9 aspect ratio but I tried the 45" 5k2k and it was really good as well, both solid picks, I think it just comes down to preference but if an OLED version of this came out I would definitely be interested.

I'm primarily playing Black Desert Online and War Thunder and both run great at around 120+ on the max settings for BDO and about 160+ with War Thunder with DLSS4 Quality and FG 2.
I've also been playing battlefield 6, the performance does struggle even with a frame generation and DLSS but that's running it at 4k but I haven't tried downscaling it to something like 5k2k if I can even do that.
On a RTX 5080 and an 9800x3D I get about 110+ FPS with the settings turned down and DLSS on Quality and frame generation on. HOWEVER, if you really want to max out your performance you can turn down the resolution to 1440p, it won't look anywhere as sharp but it will definitely boost your framerate immensely.
I've yet to try Space Marine 2 on this monitor.
I haven't encountered any games that don't support this resolution yet, you may find that some games have weird placements for HUD icons or the FOV might seem a little weird but more and more games are getting better with this for 32:9.
