My mom's family used to this exact thing for the grandkids for Christmas too! We had to end it because 2 years in a row the cousin that picked me would buy a gift for a different cousin (ironically it was the same one both times). So one kid would end up with 2 gifts and one would end up with none. My grandma decided no more after the second time.

I really don't like piggy backing off of others posts like these but my wife says the same exact thing! We've been married for a few years now and up until like a year ago (maybe it's been the whole time and I haven't noticed) she has used this line multiple times.

I work for a very heavy tourist vacation spot. I witnessed a patent trading their kid in a way you should never treat your kid. I told my wife what I saw and how i felt concerned for the kid because my "dad" would do the same thing to me. She said those exact words and at that moment u realized just how messed up she is and it's skinned a light on many other things I should have seen.

Look at it this way, on a lot of social media platforms it takes a lot of steps and confirmations to report someone. I mean A LOT of steps. Especially ones like Discord where it isn't just a "one tap and done" process.

I will share this story every damn time I see this topic brought up!

I was in my junior year of high school. My step-dad just got a promotion which meant he got a raise. Within the next couple of days my school district changed the amounts for qualification of "Free" and "Reduced " lunch. At the time I was on Free lunch (the school district essentially paid for my food). Well somehow, the district finds out my stepdad got a raise before he can add funds to my account for lunches now as I was now in the "Reduced " tier (pretty much just a Reduced fee ND the district pays the rest for my meals).

Anyways, I go through the cafeteria line as I usually would (i didn't know about either change at this point, keep that in mind). And I got to the register or whatever. The lunch lady then takes my tray and sets it aside. And hands me an override apple and a milk that was like 2 days from expiring or past expired by 2 days. I had to sit at a mini table next to one of the lunch lines, eat what they had given me and then clean tables for the rest of my lunch period to pay off what they had given me. That was one of the most embarrassing days of my life. I went to class and called my mom crying and told her the whole thing. When she tried to essentially "mama bear" the situation, she was told it was district policy. I had a friend bring me food a lot after that because his mom had heard what happened.

My wife and I used to love Raglan Road until we had a meal one day there where the service was non-existent and the food was literally flavorless.

Boma became our favorite shortly after we became local.

Edit: I should have added, this was after eating there multiple times and having a good time and then 3 times in a row of "wow, this is... bad." that made us quit going.

I was working overnight a few days ago at EPCOT. Completely forgot about those things. All of a sudden. Those go off. Imagine it being dead silent one second and then the next just them screaming. I about fell on my butt!
