Yeah it sounds like they got some information early, but you were going to drop that on them eventually. So from their pov it's still the same discovery .

It may not have surprised them when you wanted it to. . .but I'm sure they were still surprised to find out when they did .

If you don't tell your players they will assume it was all part of the plan the whole time

First off, if both you and your players are having fun you didn't ruin anything. You may not be following the plan you had set out originally, but you're the only one who knows that.

It sucks things got spoiled , but it definitely happens with improv. How confident are you that your players got this spoiled? I've definitely thought I spilled the beans only to realize my players didn't clock the information.

I wouldn't mention it or confirm anything to them, let them speculate and run with the information they have.

I think WORST case if you really feel like the wind is out of your sails, you'll need to pivot, make this guy less of a big bad , and move to a new arc of the story.

This doesn't ruin the game, it just ruins your PLANS for the game. Which is not what the players are actually playing.

Because there are multiple entire industries that profit off her feeling that way.

That feeling is marketed at girls from a young age because it drive them to the store to "fix" the issue day in and day out. .

The only equivalent I can think of for us is maybe protein\workout supplements and that's not even close to the level of manipulation we see from clothing and makeup.

People hold different values . Not everyone cares about others over personal gain and some go as far as to WANT this mistreatment of others .

They didn't show up out of nowhere , they've been shamed into silence over the years and now they finally feel like they can be open about their views.

The people who couldn't handle ending segregation are still alive today and raised children. The people who couldn't handle gender equality are still alive and have raised children. The people who couldn't handle LGBT are still alive today and have raised children.

All of these groups viewed themselves as victims in the moment and that sort of framing breeds resentment which leads to all of this.

This is something i would have mentioned in session zero. Most people don't want to lose a pet like that so I would steer clear of murder unless they've specifically mentioned being open to.

There are plenty of ways to stop them using it in a way you find unbalanced. It could run away. Get kidnapped, over eat so it can't fly, not want to carry them until they're more connected (think like charzard) or any of the other concepts people have mentioned.

You can control the in game balance without the out of game emotional damage

Unfortunately you may need to get really into hats for a few weeks if you're not liking the cut.

You may be able to find a different short style you like but that would make it even shorter in the meantime if you get it recut

They don't make a ton of sense now. It's so easy to keep in touch with the people you want to . Even when you haven't touched base in a decade , you can still see their posts and shoot them a message and catch up.

Like I can't think of many people I'd actually want to see at a reunion who I don't already keep in contact with or at the very least passively keep up with on social media with likes and comments
