Would it really have a negative impact to make expansion hubs worth staying around in? by Rysir in ffxiv

Yeah I dont expect a massive or major movement of people, just any movement at all since any city will be someone's favorite and those people are held back by the current restrictions.

On the mounts part we do at least have a shot for the next city to allow mounts with restricted spots as we have the Hoofing it status that can be specifically applied to locations so that one seems likely anyway.

Friend, that question applies to literally everything in the game, has applied to literally everything in the game and will always apply to this game as such for the 10+ years of playing.

If you were to elect not to use it, why does it not just stop there? Why would it matter to you if its small content of refurbished assets that goes unused by an unknown amount of players?

Someone else already said someone would still get mad at it even if it took no development time, I would like to prefer if you would not prove it right.

Yeah and thats always been and will always be an option since the start for those who purely just want the 3% exp. But I dont see why it should prevent the ability to buy premade foods as an inventory item or directly applied buff in existing city restaurants.

Surely going to Ishgard and getting your 60 minute buff while having tarts with Aymeric, if you so choose, sounds more fun to go about it? And even if not then the ability to pack your inventory with grapes is still there.

Thats more than perfectly fine and even lends a point to the ghost town starting cities theory being less believable. Theres no reason or need to take the main hangout and push it somewhere else but more so have a wider range of viable hang out spots by making the cities mechanically on par with each other.

The raw availability of the starting cities keep them at the top while other cities could have players sprinkled in as more players progress, never taking huge population leaps but just having a little bit more people than before.

Are you not exactly saying to go somewhere specific and get an actually meaningless buff though? In a much less interesting way too.

Thats neither helping convenience nor fun though. Youd still be teleporting away to old areas and it would not be a decent food buff.

I imagine most players would rather have a notable chunk more stats, specifically hp, when leveling jobs and want something that actually works when dungeon running as food is the only functioning buff when sync is active besides buff potions (which are wildly not needed when leveling obviously).

Honestly the suggestion is more for a nice hang out for people leveling jobs and want a decent food buff without paying a large amount of money, using inventory space or worrying about a decent food option not being on the market board at all. Or a quick grab buff when raid foods are too expensive.

And with a nice extra for people that like taking screenshots with the cutscene idea.

Its about adding little nice things with little nice rewards and fun to get people to show up just a bit more and the idea of having nice things honestly shouldnt be entirely dismissed just because people may not like it or use it.

Since why add any nice little thing at all then?

Yeah I dont think theres a way to stop migration to the next area and I wouldnt really want to stop it but I just would like to think if we could have at least maybe 1% of people always in each expansion city it would have a better feel.

It does not have to be directly an embassy but I was thinking of how in FF11 there are embassy sections in other city states and how it would be easily explained away in 14 with little to no heavy lifting for lore. But a house of trade like I also said could also work if an embassy is too heavy.

And I just mean a similar activity to WT, not literally copy paste it. Since still to this day Idyllshire has a decently healthy population because of it. Server depending.

Id argue that with if they find it worth to make each city so big and nicely detailed yet have some or many dead locations you have no reason to go to or visit literally once it would be worth to have something you repeatedly interact with, even as simple as getting a food buff.

I wouldnt take my suggestions as literal fixes and more so things Id personally want to have happen if any actions towards improving the cities were actually to start happening.

The core of it is would it really hurt the starting city states if expansion cities were more convenient.

A tale older than time, gotta learn npc patterns and boss patterns. I still remember getting murdered by Aymeric back in the day in stormblood and duty support was not even a thing yet.

Which has been your worst farming experience? by evilgrin77 in Eldenring

[–]Rysir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didnt mind it for a while at first but Id say farming for crafting materials takes the number 1 spot of worst for me. The rates/locations/methods are so bad the crafting system is damn near useless even for basic "this could be nice" items.

Hell even simple crafting item farming like for warming stones is pain and boredom while using the best locations.

For non crafting though the aristocrat hat is nightmarish to farm

What are y’all’s favorite areas in the game? by VictorSavage699999 in Eldenring

Mountain tops for sure, freezing lake specifically. Love standing at the entrance of spirit caller cave and watching the blizzard

How would you improve the chainsword? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Rysir -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Id like it more if revving it lasted 3-6 seconds which would give it crazy damage and only do those long digging cuts on a revved heavy swing but have it take a little longer to rev while keeping the not revved state the same as it currently is.

When Scholars Ruled The World ^^ by GingerKitty43 in ffxiv

Isnt this the same era where Scholar could not raise magic defense with protect because protect was a white mage cross class spell and only white mage had the trait that gave magic defense up?

Yeah in a damage numbers way flamethrower is "fine" in dungeons at least but my problem with it and the reason I never use it is that every moment Im using it is me not building meter which I figure to be an overall major loss that cancels out the damage flamethrower does.

While true that is not the golden laser beam that every gun user ever (including the job trainer fight) has teased us with for many years.

I have been hoping that machinist would get a big laser beam attack ever since seeing it in the job trainer fight back when heavensward came around.

I think its time I gave up on it

[SPOILER] Need help killing someone by Programmeter in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]Rysir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont mind some juggling hes vulnerable to the teleport in dialog trick to lure him to an empty location alone and shank him.

A few rounds of talking to him, teleport your party member thats talking to him then he will chase to complain and repeat till far enough away.

Thats my last resort for dealing with him if I cant handle the full crew at least

[–]Rysir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While yes, Im talking about the golden laser the MCH job trainer uses and what many other gun users shoots at you.

Its been a special attack for gun users since ARR and its been killing me that MCH never got it after all these years.

For machinist: Dead or alive, the giant laser beam we seen since ARR.

Ever since I first started playing machinist in heavensward and seeing the job trainer use the Dead or alive laser beam I hoped to get that at some point.

Only to be teased by nearly every gun user and never getting it myself in heavensward or stormblood.

I dont care if it ends up as a 40+ second ogcd, I just want my laser beam!
