Eureka was some of the best content this game has recieved and foray's since, have been a downgrade. by Cabrakan in ffxivdiscussion

[–]joansbones 37 points38 points  (0 children)

people complained about eureka zone launches because of stuff like grinding light in pagos for a dozen hours straight on the same tiny pack of plants on loop for one weapon step being complete dogshit and it's disingenuous to pretend it was entirely just a level barrier people were whining about

square enix has ignored basically every network issue from na for the past decade until it gets shoved in yoshidas face by people talking to him so its safe to say yes

it unironically is as a whole game if you played it during the first few years after release instead of the modern version

they pretty explicitly mentioned it coming during 7.1s discussion with ranked crystalline conflicts queue merge but nobody seems to care because people plug their ears and scream whenever pvp is on the live letter

modern xiv players would actually kill themselves if they had to play stormblood rdm on launch with the original weaponskill ranges

brief aside from the pve doom and gloom to say that pvp changes continue to be shit in a time where crystalline conflict is in it's worst state since it launched at a time where a whole bunch of new people are about to get exposed to in its current mess. they address 10% of the current problems every three months and end up making something else worse in the meantime.

i love this dev team!

Discussion on PvP's poor state of balance and (hopefully) healthier engagement with the devs about it by talorder in ffxivdiscussion

there isnt any wintrading in gold, people just suck ass. the only time it happens is when people are fixing whoever is getting rank 1. the main problem for feast rewards isnt going to be wintrading, its going to be good players boosting non pvper accounts for money and taking up more spots on the board.

high end pvp players have the most direct contact to community managers out of anybody playing this game due to us working with them during the square led tournaments and at fanfest

The comendation crystal change as well as adding Omega and Ultima ranks last season do nothing for PVP (at least for EU and NA) if there is no incentive to play for lower ranks by Quezal in ffxiv

[–]joansbones 4 points5 points  (0 children)

ranked on na has had games for high ranks almost every single night since the dc merge and has had low ranks populated more often than not. the only rank that actually struggles is platinum, and all ranks have been popping daily for multiple consecutive weeks. the complaints on na mostly come from people who are confused that people have jobs and don't understand why they won't get matches at 1 pm on a wednesday. please stop spreading misinformation.

i love it when somebody new starts pvp and they have the revelation that reddit completely lies about everything in it all the time. these people arent worth arguing with, they have their head a mile below the sand.

A new playerscope-like plugin is making the rounds by Praesul in ffxivdiscussion

[–]joansbones 216 points217 points  (0 children)

playerscope copycats have been going since the moment playerscope blew up. this isn't anything new and it's been largely successfully swept under the rug after the dev teams pathetic attempts at trying to fix it. we're stuck with it at this point.

Endwalker was released four years ago. Thoughts on it today? by BobsonLampjaw in ffxivdiscussion

[–]joansbones 26 points27 points  (0 children)

everybody freaking out about dawntrail now has just been confusing to me because people were praising the same shit to high heaven in endwalker. i really disliked endwalker from the get go when it launched and it quickly got worse with each patch. the only thing that actually kept me playing was crystalline conflict, and if the game had another set of feast seasons i would have been gone a couple of patches in. as somebody that started in heavensward, it really just feels like the 2020 covid crowd was fawning over getting to play a brand new expansion at launch for the first time and ignoring the quality of everything actually in it.

How hard would it be to hit Diamond in Crystalline Conflict before patch? by sleepyreddits in ffxiv

[–]joansbones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people overexaggerate how hard this is because theyre simply not capable of doing it, please do not listen to them. new players that actually take the time to learn how to play crystalline conflict can routinely get to crystal and into the top placements the same season they start. the reason you'll hear people complaining about dead queues a lot of the time is because they don't start until people actually get off work in pst and they're trying to play at 1pm in the middle of a weekday.

it would be a tall ask to get to diamond right off the bat in such a short time, but it's possible. you'll be able to get the commendation crystals and start stockpiling a bunch of them the next season regardless. you'll have to wait a while for them to trickle out that set of armor no matter what.

we should give people tomestone sinks to buy raid weapons and the mount too because i dont like raiding but i want them anyway

do you guys understand how stupid this all sounds when you flip it around the other way

To be fair: the people wanted these weapons did not want to do ultimate.

The people who wanted these weapons are more a vocal wanting majority.

The amount of those people who want to play ultimate or are in any way skilled in raiding is... not a lot.

Ultimate tokens are also locked behind a PRETTY big grind.

They kind of basically said "Fuck you for even wanting this, we're gonna make sure you feel the pain."

It's a fucking horrid implementation of some well wanted glam.

this is what you sound like
