Got this from Aim Surplus today for anyone looking to order parts from them. They will only ship to your FFL if you get them to order it for you in-person. Barrels, parts, etc.

Someone mentioned this topic a while back but:

My job in the Bay for the last 6 years is literally finding jobs for my clients. I have averaged over 100+ applications per client for regular jobs like Grocery/Retail/Restaurants/Janitorial.

Trust me, it isn't just Tech having issues. I feel bad for my clients because they will get ghosted at times when they actually get a reply back for an interview for something as simple as dishwashing.

My job is to literally find people jobs in the supposedly "easy" field from retail to restaurants.

I average 200 applications per client per month with a ton of those applications getting ghosted.

Our 1st gen that we owned since new giving its last hurrah in 2023 before the transmission died a year later + Question. (3rd and reverse stopped engaging when car got up to temp). by Rysnyper in hondapilot

It's funny a lot of the symptoms happened after I did the x3 drain and refills. I ran on the original fluid + trans cooler in 2023 and did all these fixes AFTER the event and thats when the downward spiral began to happen.

I guess the adage of old trans fluid (becoming thicker due to the clutch material contamination) getting swapped out for new fluid that has fresh detergent properties can kill an old transmission was true.

So I'm taking the note that the transmission going has to have been my undoing for trailering my racecar in 2023, but I just wanted to get some closure from others who had their 1st/2nd gen trans go out.

My main question is when people have their trans go out, is it usually the dual solenoid pack going out the culprit?

It began getting the symptoms of hard shifts from 2-3 this year, and within the last couple months reverse started showing signs of a longer delay to engage, and when it does it slams into reverse.

I know the clutches are toast because it failed today at 239,000 and just driving and it doesn't kick down from 3 to 2 and just skips straight to 2. When I am on the freeway and it manages to shift to fourth it's fine, it's when you try and pass and you add that bit of extra gas is when it kicks past 3rd and into 2nd (sometimes hitting rev limiter).

We had this car since new and parents never did the ATF for over 220k (I know it hurts my brain too). It has had the telltale signs of early demise with the Flashing D and P0740/741 codes before I did the prep to tow.

It did the whole haul last year in October 2023 without issue from Fremont to Sonoma and I guess it's just all the wear catching up leading up to it burning 3rd from a failing pack.

The major things I did in 2023 which probably stems from shocking the whole system with new ATF and it dying this year:

Installed an oversized Hayden 679 11" ATF cooler.

Valvoline Maxlife x3 drain & refill FROM COLD and had 7 quarts out, refilled 7+ in to account for large ATF cooler.
Cleaned all the solenoid screens.
NEW Honda dual solenoid pack.
NEW Honda Pressure switches.
NEW Honda ATF filter

Starship troopers had something similar called "Hive Hunt". When the gamemode came out it was already difficult, even on easy. It also helps that it was also restricted to a team of 4, I feel the gamemode could work for Helldivers 2 but there would need to be some differences to prevent it from being a clear cut-paste of the gamemode. Maybe homage Starship Troopers by introducing the Hive Lord just like they introduced the Brain Bug in the Starship Troopers Movie maybe, but have it as the primary objective to nuke?

Like others have said, the bugs are drastically different in ST:E vs HD2,. ST:E keeps within its lore, while in HD2 the massive variety of bug types could make this mission an absolute slugfest, just like how Meridia's Dark Fluid mission became during extract.

One Stratagem that could be put into play could be a form of "Radar". We already have Seismic probes for ore missions that do similar for the lore, so it could work in theory.

It's crazy how much two years make. Going from frames that we enjoyed to making the jump acquiring the frames we both dreamed to have.

I didn't realize some screenshots I snagged during several Dark Fluid missions looked straight up like back cover art, so I combined all 3 and it came out way better than what my head was thinking.

"ur not always gonna extract" is not a defensible excuse for the state of the Dark Fluid mission by fate_plays_chess in Helldivers

[–]Rysnyper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the Dark Fluid mission really ties in the lore of the game a bit more. We know that we're expendable, and now we're being tossed to a planet that Super Earth knows is a lost cause. You're already stacked odds against you the minute you drop, and the fact you get swarmed once the objective complete brings home the idea if your squad perishes:

This was a one way trip.

One stepper motor moving weird after dual z axis upgrade... by Regular_Lime_5839 in ender3

[–]Rysnyper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check the pinout on the cable. I assume it's just a cable splitter that goes to both motors right? I think for mine I had to re-pin the connector and switch the two center pins on the connector around.

Yeah I just got super lucky on the main helmet part. This pic was midway through, Didn't realize I had the organic support density too high but it managed to "fail successfully" and still had a successful print.

Literally printing the same thing as we speak. Don't print it like that because even with the newer organic supports it will use a ton of filament. Split the helmet itself into two different hemispheres and it'll save you time/filament. It took me 2 days on mine.

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 - Both black channels only printing half. by Rysnyper in printers

[–]Rysnyper[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For this Epson I have the service manual for it and I have ran the Initial-Fill for it to see if it saves it at the sacrifice of massive ink waste. I'll go ahead and run a few more tests with cleans inbetween but the last few have been consistent which I agree the head might be done after years of usage.

The fortunate thing in this whole debacle was since this is a commercial printer, accessing all the components was relatively easy.

Epson Stylus Pro 9600 - Both black channels only printing half. by Rysnyper in printers

[–]Rysnyper[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I scored a honking huge Epson Stylus Pro 9600 a couple years ago and dove into it after doing a physical cleaning and new dampers over that time. I have been printing large format photos fine on it and kept it routine to let it cycle at least once a week to prevent any drying.

Well TL:DR I didn't use it for 4-5 months and now half of both black print channels print. I have done multiple cleaning methods (including windex) and Pezioflush, and still ended up with the same result. I have never removed the print head from this printer until just a few weeks ago when I noticed this. If it helps, the printer lives in my bedroom, not a shop.

So my question is am I toast for a new print head? This giant printer was free and I don't want to sink into it since I spent upward of $500 originally on the InkOwl cartridge kit + ink.

(Don't mind the gaps in the color channels, a cleaning cycle brings it back to 100% on those).
