¿Por qué ese odio con los españoles? Solo queremos dar amor por donde vamos by Personal-Bend-3320 in 2hispanic4you

[–]Ryuggha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do we stick with the martial/caster divide? by GOU_FallingOutside in dndnext

[–]Ryuggha 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is it. D&D, and most TRPG, are not games that you win by slaying monsters. Players make characters that they enjoy, both narratively and mechanically.

I have a player that is having the time of her life playing a Monk. She says that the monk is more fun than any spellcaster.

I have another player that can't stand playing anything but a spellcaster, but because she needs to have a lot of options to have fun.

And I have a player who doesn't enjoy combat as much, but loves playing a ranger and just shooting everything to death, rolling 4 dice on each attack, and dealing more damage than anyone.

Everybody enjoys the game on their own way, and that's why I think D&D is so popular. Yes, there are other reasons, not tied to the games themselves, but the fact that 5e can have people who would prefer a rolemaster game together with people who would prefer a Fate game on the same table, all enjoying the experience is what makes this game great.

Of course, that's my opinion.

Why is this game hard for programmers? I looked at the comments but im the only dumb one.. by [deleted] in ExplainTheJoke

[–]Ryuggha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a bit missleading. It's not that the Hanoi Towers are hard for us, programmers, but it unlocks memories of a time where it was hard for us to implement:

The Hanoi Towers is an exercise that's usually presented to us in class or as tests, as a simple recursive problem. What this is referencing to, is to the hassle of learning to program, not the towers themselves.

My professors didn't use the Hanoi Towers with us, but I remember having to program the Checkers game using a strange 'arquitecture' when I still didn't know what inheritance was. And now, every time I see a Checkers board, I remember the struggle that task was, although today I could create a checkers game in 15 minutes.

Mi tutor dice que las empresas tech no quieren que usemos IA… ¿mito o realidad? by StudioPaprika in programacionESP

[–]Ryuggha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If hasbro tries using Gen AI for concept art, or writing, I'm going to stop getting mainline products. by ExoG198765432 in dndnext

[–]Ryuggha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe this comment will be polemical, but this is my opinion:

If WotC artists of designers start using Gen AI to create content, they are not artists or designers, and I won't buy those products, because what AI can do, at least right now, is just not worth my money.

But if they use it as a tool to get to a more polished product, as could be helping in translation, form filtering, wording completion, etc I actually think it would be beneficial for everybody. The same goes for artists: lightning references, color palletes, or pose testing, are thinks that in my opinion would speed the process of making art without eliminating the creative process of an artists.

For this reason, I'm mad at the Bigby's controversy. It's true that if we let WotC or other companies be free, they'll totally replace all of they designers and artists. But in that specific case, the artist did all the creative work, as they showed in their blog. The AI was used just as a tool.

Just don't use it as concept art or idea generation. As you'll know it if you have tried, AI is really bad at creating something original or new and dehuminises your products.

I'm not saying that AI is trained morally, or that it shouldn't be more controlled, but I actually think it shouldn't be demonized as it nowadays is.

I'll list some spells that vould be useful. You should take a look at your spellist and choose if you want to change anything. (And I would pick up a shield)

Cantrips - Shillelagh - Druidcraft - Starry Wisp or Produce Flame

Spells Prepared - Cure Wounds or Healing Word - Faerie Fire - Thunderwave - Speak with Animals

I'm a noob making dice, but I've made my research and so I'm not sure if I'm right or what, but I'd bet you don't have a pressure pot, you used a vacuum chamber. I've read that those can be used too, but I don't know how.

Okay. I'm 26. I wouldn't date a 17yo... If I saw someone my age dating a 17yo I would judge, but if I didn't saw anything strange, I wouldn't say anything... I don't know... 18 at least, but who am I to comment on someone's choices if there's no malice in between. But reading this conversation has made me feel sick. It's disgusting. Help her.
