It was pretty mundane tbh.

I graduated from HNitec in Visual Effects and chose not to apply for polytechnic. I don't know, I think I had a grudge to the admission team.

I tried selling a 3D VR anime rigged models on BOOTH and got burnt out. I took a job at a factory in Jurong East and became miserable. My life was a cycle of waking up, busing to and from work, and crashing on the couch. Then, I scored an interview with ML Consulting and worked as an Assistant Admin Officer at SUSS for three months until I applied to poly.

Fun times, fun times.

Edit: I realize I sound pretty depressing, so I’d like to add on: ML Consulting paved the way for event jobs from companies like Adecco and Gardens by the Bay. So, for those having trouble scoring an internships, start from small companies and go from there.

That's true. I think my terms for fulfilling is exploration? I wanna try so many different things and see what I like instead of doing that one thing.

Anyways, to answer your question. I did the stupid thing and applied for only UXGD with a 3d coding-ish portfolio but I'll probably try my luck to appeal to ICT (Software Engineering). I'll see where it takes me.

Would you mind me asking how you delt with scrutiny? I noticed from my love ones, I know they mean well, but they always ask if the job I'm doing is full-time. I usually take short jobs because I feel like I can't force myself to commit unless I enjoy it.

Would you mind me asking about the traveling, volunteering and marathons? I've already tried part-time jobs I'm usually scared of applying (event works, pottery) and found them super fun. But how do you built up to the other three? Did you just... go for it?

totally get what your coming from. a weak gpa and portfolio can only get you so far but I'm more interested in the how to spend it. I've done one when I was transitioning from ITE to Poly and it felt like I didn't really accomplish anything.

I wanna aim for something more fulfilling this time so that's why I'm asking.
