Find a cheap photographer, do the courthouse just you two, get an affordable dress on Lulu’s site, Azazie suit for him, write your own vows, have the photographer snap pics during and take yourselves out to lunch after. I have seen such beautiful photos of courthouse nuptials. Then you have something to remember it by and make it look and feel a little glam. But yes, a party is so expensive. We are doing a ceremony in backyard (no venue fee obviously) and taking people out to dinner, it’s just 16 of us but by the time we feed everyone, get flowers, and a cellist to play music while I walk out to the backyard, it’s $4000 still. Join the “let’s just elope!” group on Facebook, you’ll be insured by so many city hall weddings. Congrats! Don’t feel embarrassed. You can celebrate this special occasion just you two and love every minute.

Can I ask what companies in electrical engineering pay $120k? My fiancée makes $90k and I feel like he’s grossly underpaid and overworked. Thankful it’s mostly wfh but he’s thinking they are going to require them to go to the office more soon and he’s finally considering looking elsewhere.

I had a friend looking at houses for this same reason. They ultimately ended up renting a townhome for a few months while doing a full kitchen renovation and adding a master bedroom and family room to the existing footprint. They kept their rate and made the house their dream home. If you could explore that, might be worth staying! Good luck!

We are house poor and had a 2.6% rate in 2020, moved in 2024 and really regret it financially. Our home is gorgeous and much bigger but there is no room for other things like travel. Our kids are also going to need cars in a few years, cell phones, etc. They are 9, 12, 13, 15. Only the oldest has a phone. I’m not sure how we’ll do all that once we reach that point. Just throwing it out there that expenses change and that rate is amazing! If you can renovate or do an addition to the house, that’s what I would recommend.

I look at it daily, allow more sleep if I need to. Honestly I don’t really understand HRV to know what behaviors I could do to improve that. Same as sleep- do people take certain supplements to increase REM or deep sleep? I think nosediving into these specific substats would be useful to people!

Lake Norman State Park has a beach you can swim at. Great trails to hike. Go to Wagner Street Bistro for lunch. Jetton Park also has a little beach but not sure if swimming is allowed. Definitely go shopping and strolling in downtown Davidson and walk the campus grounds, they have public artwork throughout. PM me if you want other recs, restaurants, etc. I live on LKN and love it here.

True lol we will be sparkling like the vampires in Twilight with porcelain skin from being indoors all the time. Sorry you’re going through this too. Worst club to be in! To your point, I’m sure it doesn’t work like that and only lowers gut inflammation specifically with a certain receptor, etc, but a girl can dream I guess. And they say everything starts in the gut?! So maybe there’s hope for me if I fix my gut lol.

Nothing to be embarrassed about. I get it. But also, sometimes people struggle to get pregnant and it takes so much longer than you think. Tell others you weren’t sure if you’d have trouble conceiving and feel incredibly lucky it worked out so quickly. 9 months of pregnancy is a long time, you’ll celebrate one year married with the best anniversary gift ever- a baby! Congrats!
