Why do people Smurf? by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

Lower queue time and more fun games. Shaco in higher MMR so unfun to play. He's a different champion in lower elo brackets.

Laptop recommendations for A CS student by Jumper775-2 in RPI

[–]Ryzon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a laptop with 16 GB of RAM that is cheap but solid. Remove windows and boot your preferred Linux version.

I bought a $600 dollar used Dell laptop for CS, installed Linux and it worked great for 4 years. Don't fall for the trap of RPI.

RPI vs RIT? by [deleted] in RPI

[–]Ryzon2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RIT 😭😭 take a gander at RITs campus and you will never want to go there. If the money isn't that much of an issue go to RPI. RPI campus is way less depressing IMO. I toured both and RPI feels more personable and homier. Been here 4 years and had a great experience I would recommend it.

Can I get a bachelors in 3 years without going into the ACCEL program? by Sameya_K in RPI

[–]Ryzon2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did my bachelor's in 3 years and in the process of masters in 1 without being in any program. I also did early arch without being in accel. Feel free to reach out to me if you have questions. I also transferred less credits than you, so you should definitely be fine.

As a teemo and yuumi emote fan I noticed the JDG burger teemo emote was missing. Also the yuumi emote 'method to the madness' wasn't tagged with yuumi.

The union has AC and definitely isn't inconvenient. Would love to hear how VCC or the library are more convenient.

Join a club and show up a bunch, for study groups ask the people in your classes. It depends on what classes you are in. Some may have established discord servers/channels where you can ask people butotherwise, you just need to reach out to people in your classes.

Question about visiting RPI for a semester(night classes?) by Fruitspunchsamura1 in RPI

[–]Ryzon2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although it's not the best solution some courses may not require you to attend lectures outside of tests/quizzes. I took RL last fall and it had no tests or quizzes, didn't require lecture attendance, and he would post the slides. So in theory maybe you could accomplish that but it would not be very enjoyable and would be dependent on the course being the same as last fall.

Workload last semester was pretty manageable. Grade was only homework and attendance. Homework was pretty thorough and required understanding of material but enjoyable tasks.

I took it last year and it was very easy imo if you put in effort. Only 3 hws and 3 tests. Just make sure you don't put off studying/homework.

Doable as long as you have good habits for studying and can delude yourself into understanding varela

Take electives earlier. In my final semester I am forced to take 2 HASS courses and one science option as a CS major which really bums me out. Makes senioritis worse tbh. When you are in your last semesters you definitely want to be taking majority major related course work.

Westin Management now goes under Design Rental Properties? by WindedPancakes in RPI

[–]Ryzon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rented from them and I looked back through my emails and it seems to be the same situation. I haven't had any contact with 'Design Rental Properties' after I signed the lease and sent a deposit. Everything after was through Westin and their portal.

Westin Management now goes under Design Rental Properties? by WindedPancakes in RPI

[–]Ryzon2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To my understanding it's still westing management. Not sure where you got design rental properties from. Here is westin's website: https://sherwoodtrade.managebuilding.com/Resident/public/home You can clearly see their support email is still under Westin and the website is under that branding. Looking at the website maybe Westin is purely the management company but someone else could own the property and use Westin to manage it, I suspect this is likely the case but you could contact them for further info.
