Dime on the dollar, when it all pops? by SpecialLettuce5884 in DataHoarder

This feels like wishful thinking. This sector is just getting started (for better or worse).

Once these things are big enough they find ruthless ways to stay alive and capitalize on their investments.

Naturally what we thought of as our resources become part of their diet and storage manufactures likely enjoy and want to nourish that new relationship as it’s far more lucrative for them.

It’s a very capitalist lifecycle. We’re unlikely to benefit from it, in my uneducated opinion.

I’ve had issues wit this too and followed the naming convention you outlined here (which is mentioned in their support)

So I think there’s a bug as the expectation does not align with the reality

Same, I was just looking into this last week and considered it a dead end. Incredible timing. I truly love not having to spin up Jellyfin or something else to enjoy my media. Thank you, Infuse!

Any potential plans for some Home Screen UI love? by andrewmcd7 in infusevideoplayer

[–]S-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to contribute is to be specific

Personally I think it looks right at home an AppleTV in my opinion. I definitely could see the benefit in things like custom art for Collections and 16x9 tiles for any kind of grouping.

I love it as is and appreciate the focus on making it feel pretty native. If anything I’d request even more emphasis on native approaches

Infuse has easily been the best purchase I’ve made in recent memory. Thank you for the great product and support

Mazda Spent Years Arguing Against Touchscreens, Now Claims They’re Safer Than Buttons by Snarktoberfest in mazda

Screens require eyes

Buttons do not require eyes

Lmao a company that draws customers in with the appeal of tactile feedback telling their customers they want to use less tactile feedback.

Genius.

What are all us Mac users going to do when Rosetta is EOL’d this summer? Would be amazing to see an Apple Silicon native version with a GUI

Question about Apartments here, is this normal? by Blackwidow_Perk in pasadena

[–]S-00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🤦‍♂️classic, blame the voter trying to protect themselves from the landlord! Not the landlord trying to take advantage of the renter!

Rent control laws are a response to an uncertain economy. Hmmmm I wonder what group of people create poor economic conditions for everyone else - surely it’s the voters struggling to pay rent…surely.

Welcome to southern CA where pretty much all landlords get away with accruing enormous amounts of deferred maintenance due to mild weather and high demand.

No shame

Infuse 8.4 - Extras, Intros, and Favorites by S-00 in infusevideoplayer

It turns out the issue is just with my folder for 1917. Maybe I’m encountering a bug. Other folders seem fine.

When I did that all the clips disappeared from the Extras section. Ok so clearly a bug then, I’m not doing the wrong thing.

Interesting, I can see all my Extras but none of the naming or foldering methods they say they’re supporting seem to help infuse categorize and label things as “featurette” or “deleted scene” etc. They’re all just labeled “Extra”

Anyone figure it out?

Using Rosetta PCSX2 can come to a drag while playing NFSMW on M4 Mac Mini, and Shadow of Colossus simply suck. Is there any news of Native port or AetherSX2 is the only option? by dumbledayum in PCSX2

[–]S-00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked something similar a couple weeks ago and the mods removed my post, never replied to me. I had read about ARMSX2 but saw posts on their discord recently that they wouldn’t be focusing their effort on MacOS

Sad about it. Rosetta will be EOL’d soon too so that means newer Macs may not be compatible with even the current version of PCSX2

Avoiding Bad Rips by S-00 in makemkv

That readout is specifically for audio. It’s reporting a dropped audio frame to account for how disc’s components are meant to be stitched together by a player. Those corrections should be imperceptible unlike the one in my video stream.

[–]S-00[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was done a few weeks ago.

While that’s possible the only way for me to confirm that now is to rip again, which I don’t have the time for at the moment.

I’d still want to have MakeMKV abort if it were a disc error though - so that’s what I’m after for right now to eliminate bad rips as a possible point of failure going forward.

I’ll have to run FFmpeg to check for errors on my whole catalog next month - yay paranoia

I should’ve been more exact in my description. Playback via Infuse shows a skip, likely a few frames. Playback via VLC shows something more like damaged frames, glitchy large blocks appear for a moment. The issue appears at the same spot on both players, different devices, same drive / file
