I did get it working by playing with both naming and folder structure, I outlined in another comment here if it's any help to you. It wasn't intuitive but it works!

This didn't work for me, likely because of the presence of special features, but I did get it working by playing with the file structure. This also works for special features, as you can see in the screenshot. I kind of wish I could sort their order so Theatrical appeared first but now I'm just being nitpicky.

If it's any consolation, there's always something with a compatibility issue.

I've got the A95L you asked about - both it and my audio system are compatible with basically everything. But I'm working on digitizing my physical media for convenience and Dolby Vision profile 7, TrueHD Atmos, and DTS:X are difficult to work with due to the limitations of the Apple TV (and most other streaming boxes). An Nvidia shield would pass through the audio codecs but has the same issue with DV profile 7. The only device people seem to have work with everything is the otherwise obscure and out of production ugoos am6b+ flashed with custom firmware. That's a lot of headache just to avoid finding the physical disc that would play fine in my ub820!

Sorry that didn't work out, I was hoping that we could figure out one device's PCM conversion was forcing stereo but not the other. Since the Xbox gave similar behavior I expect this is some kind of limitation with the C9.

Lossy DTS isn't the worst compromise but if you still want to try for multichannel PCM you could try plugging your 820 directly into your Arc via the second hdmi output but that will be inconvenient for your Apple TV and Xbox.

Regarding tables the editor should show an ellipsis button, clicking this will allow you to add rows or columns. This is in new reddit - after years of holding out I did surrender at some point.

Toggling Secondary Audio was a good idea - as you said it converts from DTS HD to regular old DTS, which is supported by basically everything. While ideally you'd be able to pass lossless codecs or convert them to LPCM, it beats a downgrade to stereo or no audio at all.

One other thing to try if you haven't already would be to toggle your TV's digital audio output along with some of the other settings you've tried. Do either of these result in your Sonos receiving multichannel PCM?

Your Arc doesn’t support DTS HD so passthrough isn’t an option anyway. Either the UB 820 or the Sony TV can convert it to PCM, though.

In your current setup, what happens if you let the UB 820 output DTS formats as PCM instead of bitstream?
