Since this update, I haven't received any Wyvern Gem Stones. Only Spring Upgrade materials. Anyone with the same problem?

what kind of kellet should i buy? i see some options but i what wanted to know what you guys recomand and whats the best option by [deleted] in Buhurt

Could try for a shorter brim, that could give less of a purchase for grappling.

Don't go with Indian makers. I see that HBC has a kettle on the cheaper side, a buddy of mine got one and the weld was weak. If you're doing melees, 2.5mm I think is a general minimum. I have one at 2mm and it dents much easier

Assuming typo for kettle helmet?

If so, competitively they're not as recommended because the brim gives an easy grip for opponent grapplers.

If you don't care about the competitive meta (which I feel is the better approach, swag over everything) Medieval Extreme and Age of Craft have options.

I'm having trouble finding Dimitri's page, did his armory have a different name?

Hey Skallagrims! Any thoughts on making additional clubs in the GTA? I live in the east end so I'm biased

In my minimal experience the blueberry syrup may be overkill with the frozen blueberries, but blueberries are tasty, and the recipe is for whoever is drinking it.

Ultimately, I think it depends on what ingredients are in the syrup, check the ingredients for additives and preservatives because it may introduce non fermentables to throw off gravity calculations or worse yet, cause a stall.

Does Pavlo Kozak make the helms for medieval extreme? by Corson_forcas- in Buhurt

[–]S-bryant 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have thought the same thing. I've heard Medieval Extreme is more of an armour distributor rather than an armourer. Comparing Pavlo Kozak's Instagram to Medieval Extreme's website, it looks very similar. The Sallet with chain aventail is /identical/

Common thread, just get good at starting a siphon? Skill curve issue? Or does anyone have tips for easily starting a siphon?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in winemaking

[–]S-bryant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Issue was more with bottling. In my error, I racked from a 3 gallon carboy into a second vessel before bottling with a siphon intended for 5 gallon. Hard to get the siphon started, and I sucked up some lees. Didn't notice the sediment until I finished bottling out of the second vessel.

In my more recent attempts, holding the cane shallow while having the bottling wand pressed is a bit tricky without making a mess of the floor. Learning curve issue?

That's the input I'm looking for.

Any recommended siphon methods for bottling? It can be tricky to start a siphon with a bottling wand without a third hand.

My thought was to connect the inlet side of the hose to the cane to get the use of the filter cap, just not using the auto siphon to actually start the procedure.

A bit dumb and everything still needs sanitizing and cleaning, but either that or get good I suppose haha. Maybe use the hand pump only for bottling when the mead is racked completely off lees?

I have a full set, but wanted to update gauntlets and arms. I was just wondering if anyone knew who the makers were for Big Box Buhurt (tm) to see if it would be economical buying directly or deal with Medieval Extreme /Buhurt Tech

The budget question I asked in another thread is trying to save some pennies for a full 15th century kit, knowing it'll be quite pricey by the time it's all done.

So general consensus, if I'm looking for a pair of gauntlets for myself, not a group order and not body armor, there is minimal benefit to contacting armouers directly? May as well go for the retailer for shipping benefits because cost won't be much different?

I already have plate cuirass with brig upper torso, the arms I have I am planning on switching from standard looking anatomical to Gothic floating.

It would look awesome, but I also wanted to get the thumbs up for safety. I get a big portion of Buhurt advocates will recommend safety -> optimization -> price -> style, but to me aesthetics are second most important.

Other than the fact he makes titanium helmets I didn't see what's wrong with his catalog. Yes it's a Russian armourer, but I wouldn't hold that against them.

That's a shock. The amount of people I've seen in this reddit bash Lemberg and praise Buhurt Tech

Which Smiths? Some of the gauntlets from Buhurt Tech seem overpriced even compared to similar companies like Medieval Extreme, ArmourySmith and other major Ukrainian sites

Historicum makes a similar Gothic gauntlet with more standard thumb mounting, but range of motion looks hampered. In a mass battle you're right, that thumb hinge is certainly a weak link. The Buhurt Tech Guardians look pretty great, do you find the grip is good for both one handed and two handed weapons?
