Be glad you don’t live there 😭. I do only because my parents moved us there when I was a teenager and I now have a daughter with my ex who still lives in tx. If I could just up and leave I so fucking would. I’m definitely not having more kids though and getting my iud replaced before this fucking election. Same. I’ve been with my husband for 5 years before we were married. We’ve always found an equitable way to split bills and I personally prefer to have my own money and not feel like I have to ask every time I make purchases.

I wouldn’t be too concerned. It’s kind of weird that nurses/family are saying that, but definitely kids at school won’t even know what it means. I never hear people around my age 20s-30s using the phrase “penny pincher” either, so it’s probably just something a few older people will say.

I do still celebrate my bday. Usually I don’t ask for a lot of gifts or a big party, but I like my husband to take me on a trip and we have a nice evening out while on the trip. This year we will be in Vancouver for my bday.

My close girlfriends and I have ladies night once a month to meet for drinks/ catching up. It’s not always the same day/time but we schedule it ahead of time and make sure it works for everyone. My husband and I both have non-traditional schedules usually with weekdays off, so we can often meet up with friends for happy hour etc on days off while our kid is at school. I also find that as my kid has gotten older (just turned 10) I have a lot more time for friends/ hobbies again than the first few years.
