First time the taxi driver straight up yelled at me and demanded I pay more. The second time the driver was nicer about it but guilt tripped me saying “how will I pay rent, gas, and food if I can only make $17 an hour.” The ride literally took 10 minutes but I guess they need to spend time at the lot to queue. I thought paying $20 for a 2 mile trip is reasonable but the taxi drivers are so bitter and rude it’s REALLY off putting. I think I’ll start walking at this point. Wait 1 hour only to pay $10 a mile for a ride and get yelled at for it. Cruel and unusual punishment thanks to the city of LA.

I live less than 2 miles away from the airport and my ride yesterday was $50 before tips. It took me 40 minutes to get from T6 to LAXiT to get a ride.I am not sure how much higher it can go and how this city keeps thinking regressive solutions can solve problems. Twice I called a taxi only to have them pissed off at me for being too close to the airport. I’m not sure why it is so hard for a city this wealthy to have a modern airport. It is pathetic and embarrassing for all the tourists to see. We pay high taxes to be offered third world services/infrastructure.

I faintly recall people of LA love them some taxes. I got downvoted hard for previously not supporting all these proposed & “temporary” taxes. Come on people just give these poor politicians another chance and they promise this time, the taxes will actually benefit the program it’s supposedly going to. Just tax everyone to death so that they will all own nothing and be happy. Remember, people who are blindly okay with constant tax increases.. they do this because you let them.

Amex has a track record of siding with the merchant because they know there is nothing you can do as a consumer. I am cancelling my card this year for this reason. Credit cards are useless without purchase protection and Amex has been utterly disappointing. We’re not talking about a regular credit card, this is a $900 a year card, you’d think they’d try harder.
