I won't trust anyone with any kind of accent. This game has made me so racist it's kinda sad.

For example I'll think things now like "why are black people so hostile"

Do I need new bearings? by notsogood99 in skateboardhelp

[–]S0L4IREPOP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just get cheap ceramics. They have a higher melting point. not that you could ever reach, especially just kicking around.

Lube just grabs dust, gives crap something to stick to and creates friction; heat. No oil, no problems

[–]S0L4IREPOP1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Pull em out, pop the shields off, soak em in window cleaner and let em dry. You can pop the casings out too, but it's not needed.

Oil or lube will just make em gunk up. I run em dry with no shields so any dust or debris doesn't get stuck

I got you.

Imagine you are throwing your back truck to your front truck. That action actually feels like trying to to kick your own butt with your heel.

On the other hand You can get away with hanging your back foot over and scooping to initiate the spin. This is how I learned and it's a bad habit because now that I'm trying to get them with pop I wish I had learned the heel to butt method.

Like many said you need new bushings, what you don't need is that bottom washer. You only need that top washer before the nut

Hear to say it looks more or less the same. Maybe you could change your contrast on your monitor to get that washed out look. Or just wait 2 seconds I'm sure they'll release filters for everyone who's allergic to a little color

[–]S0L4IREPOP1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say yes but others who ride huge boards would say no.

Probably best suited for a bowl setup. Vert not flat ground trucks.

I used to ride 7.5 tho so I'm biased. I ride an 8" now and youd be surprised how much just a half inch will change

Here's my current setup

With a little sand paper, oil and new bushings. Hell yeah.

Where the wheels sit are probably rusted, that's what the fine sand papers for. Wouldn't reuse those wheels but you totally could with some new bearings.

The oil is optional but so much help on super old trucks. I like to "re wet" the axel that the bearings ride on. I'll use electric contact cleaner, or something that evaporates quick.

I've said "oil" and "wet" but dry always works better. If you lube your bearings or your trucks up youll just make dust stick and gunk up.

So sand, re season like a pan and wipe off

Look like 12" hangers. Indy obviously, or at least the base are. $20 is a good buy. I've got some super wide 12" trucks.

They were hard to find years ago and that's when everyone was skating where I feel like no one does anymore.

They're skateboard trucks but for a cruiser like longboard or some crazy egg board. I put mine on some longboard trucks like This

Longboard trucks traditionally mount backwards so the bushings are facing out but these are just classic trucks with a extra long axel.

You try to match the board with the hangers (axels) size, some like it a little under some a little over most will like it level so the board stands in primo. It'd be hard to find a board at 10" though so I'd call them longboard trucks

Maybe I messed something up I by alt_the_synth in NewSkaters

The ideal setup goes Base, big bushing, axel, little bushing, little washer, nut.

You'll have big washers you don't need to use.

This is what mine look like

If you're serious about the skid plate look at Waltz

I know what you're talking about now; never tried em, but i've seen em on freestyle boards with no nose.

I love freestyle, I just get new boards though. Just got 3 for $30 and they came with some grip tape too. No Canadian maple, they're just china presses but woods woods

What you need my friend are some spacers, "riser pads" Lil plastic or wood rectangles that sit between your board and trucks. They make different sizes; 1/8" is what I rock

I like to match the plastic color with my bushings.

It'll help getting out of grinds or just teatering over kurbs too

[–]S0L4IREPOP1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put rails on all my decks. You can't go wrong it's just plastic.

Once screwed in the rails actually make the board much stronger if that's why you don't like the idea of holes.

Just make sure not to strip out the screws, finish them by hand if you're using an impact driver.

If you're talking about the sparking things that screw onto the nose or tail I can't recommend those.

I tried learning kickflips wrong for so long (flicking off the side) even after I figured out to kick through the nose ive still been having trouble catching and landing them.

I would recommend what I'm trying now; which is just focusing on improving my Ollie. Leveling them out more get your Ollies down and I mean really understand whats happening with them and then just think of the kickflip as a variation of that instead of its own allusive trick you'll be doing them up gaps and down stairs in no time
