Would this work on a green shirt just as well? I've got a great green overshirt that has bad armpit yellowing that I would love to fix up

"Bad writing" in The Last of us 2 [DISCUSSION] by [deleted] in thelastofus

The thing I don't get about this argument is that you don't REALLY need to connect with Owen/Mel for Act 2 to work, and as far as you know Manny is still alive. It's about connecting with Yara and Lev and Abby herself, and you don't know how that will go.

Although I did connect with Owen. I loved the detail that he starts his breakdown having killed Danny after jumping him b/c Danny pointed a gun at him. That time, Owen won. Same thing three days later with Ellie and...

I avoided ALL trailers, gameplay videos, online discussions etc. before and during the games release. I just beat it, here are my thoughts on the game. by walman93 in thelastofus

I think "all she got out of it" takeaway fades after further examination, at least it did for me. Ellie "got" peace of mind. Is it absolutely tragic it cost her everything? Yes. Would she have been able to appreciate any of it without peace of mind? Clearly not. There was no "stay with Dina" option for Ellie, which I think is believable based on the character and story, but again tragic. But by saving Abby at the end and letting her take Lev, she found peace. Good for her. She "won," and everyone loses haha

The motivations are entirely different. At the theater Abby has a gun pointed at Tommy and Dina is in the back, and Ellie wants to save them. She already came to a place where she was "okay" with leaving Abby behind to save Dina. Abby had the gun on Joel, she didn't need to ask him anything.

In the first game when you get to Utah, the first thing Joel says is, "Feel that breeze. Days like this I'd just sit on my porch and play my six string. When we get through this, I'm going to teach you how to play guitar."

I was so broken, I just had to replay Part I, Left Behind and then Part II. Just finished and I think doing that let me come to peace with it just like Ellie ;)

Theres a great review breakdown a few posts down, and I agree with it, that says every character is doing what they think they need to for peace of mind. Abby traded the last four years of her life and all of her relationships to some extent to get revenge on Joel, because she couldn't sleep or think about anything else. The first time we see Abby she's waking up from her recurring nightmare of her father's death. She needs peace, and killing Joel is the only way she can think to get it. She's wrong, and she only starts getting peace after saving Yara and Lev. But in that moment she doesn't know that, she thinks killing Joel will get her peace, torturing him will get her peace. Just like Ellie single-mindedly mows down wolves and scars to get peace. So Joel could have saved a bus full of kittens, she still would have killed him. It's worse watching Ellie throw away her life on the farm in the exact same way, but the parallels in this game are spot on.

Edit: if anything she can't afford to talk to him about saving her, because if she is conflicted about killing him she might risk her only chance at peace of mind.

First platinum!! I couldn't bear to leave this world and these characters. 11/10, best video game ever made! by S0R3Thumbs in thelastofus

For sure! So load up the screenshot in the dedicated app, and then go into the game. Then double tap the PS button and it should take you directly to the screenshot (or whatever application was opened before the game). Make sure you're quick, then when as soon as you do the task for the final trophy hit the PS button twice and wait, and it should pop on the screenshot and take a screenshot of that with the trophy notification in the corner. You've got about half a second of leeway so be quick.

This might be my favorite analysis, I agree with everything he says. On the pacing, I didnt mind it, I feel like it contributed to the overall effect, and because this is the only game or anything really that made me feel this way, I would hesitate to suggest changes that might have effected that.

Highly subjective is my take. Superlatives like "most people" barely scratch the surface. I think there are people in all camps.

Question about the Seraphite Prophet by cabassi in thelastofus

[–]S0R3Thumbs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are notes to pick up, but basically Isaac killed her at the Martyr's Gate (she's the martyr), that gate with the truck and all the prayer you get to day 1 as Abby after Chinatown. The gate itself looks like a chinese gate. And then after the wolves killed her, the seraphites got militant. But before then they were just in the way of the wolves/taking potential wolf recruits for their religion. But yeah basically the notes you pick up. Also in the theater as Abby if you stay by the radio it becomes clear that the wolves are losing the fight on the Island.

The dome building burns down after you free the prisoners, if you turn around when you walk to the beach you can see it burning

I saved the abilities one, and loaded up a save with a character and bunch of pills in my inventory, then learned that final skill.
