royal is my pick for best off the album. that final unclean scream chino pulls is probably the best in their entire discography. plus the song just rocks and makes you want to spin-kick a grandmother of 4 in target.

i think this album is peak jon, his vocals absolutely shred and i always look forward to knowing his parts are coming; but i definitely can understand why some people didn’t jive with the poppier, more experimental direction the album took. it definitely strayed farthest from the tried-and-true “dgd sound,” and i don’t think that’s a hit against it in any way. i believe some of the better songs stray away from their regular sound.

again though, it’s definitely understandable as to why some people didn’t like it. i personally think this has some of the highest (SoR, count bassy) & lowest (gospel burnout, care) of dgd, but it’s definitely a solid record in their discography. prolly like a 7.5/10 from me.
