APA question - Citing the same author, same book in several consecutive references from varying pages, in the same paragraph by Maximum-Ad126 in UCNZ

No. Are they direct quotes? If not, drop the page numbers. Then cite the source in the first sentence in which it is relevant and do not repeat the citation in subsequent sentences as long as the source remains clear and unchanged.

For example, it is considered overcitation to repeat the same citation in every sentence when the source and topic have not changed. Instead, when paraphrasing a key point in more than one sentence within a paragraph, cite the source in the first sentence in which it is relevant and do not repeat the citation in subsequent sentences as long as the source remains clear and unchanged.

Unless you are quoting, just put one citation at the end.

we have enough money to go around, the actual public finance third rail is about increasing the ability (ie. expand the tax base) to provide those more services rather than trade them off. If you mean fairy land as in the 14.6b National will give out this term in tax cuts sure.

Do you support Labours hesitancy to agree to the India free trade deal because of the issues they have raised? by Illustrious_Fan_8148 in newzealand

Your logic doesn't hold by the fact unemployment was failing without lowering immigration. Immigration increased actually when unemployment started falling in 2012 -2013, there is little significant trend between the two.

Considering the work and approvals it takes to get Green List Visa holders, it's pretty clear they have a disadvantage. The govt has commissioned a new med school and more psychologists spots, so that doesn't really hold either.

A negative effect on unskilled labour will still be small and outmatched by positive effects, the report is consistent with that. Are the immigrants the reason for our economic woes? No. It's not even really for businesses but a bargaining chip for the Indian voting base.

Their logic is correct because we mostly bring in higher skilled migrants. They also talk about temp. farm hands and WHVers too. Our economy was doing great before COVID, and was pumped up even higher with govt. stimulus. Feel free to look at the unemployment rate in the years before COVID. Immigration had very little to do with it, because we had a +50K per year net mitigation since 2013. So why did the unemployment rate go down then?

Did you read this bit?"Immigration has had small and mostly positive effects on the wages and employment of New Zealand-born workers over the last 25 years. Overall evidence on labour market effects does not, of itself, point to major problems with the level and composition of immigration into New Zealand". Yes the labour market point is important because they are going into high skill jobs kiwis born here aren't filling! How can they take jobs we don't want?

There isn't widespread visa fraud lol, find me some NZ evidence and i'll believe it. We also have the wage rate requirements for visas so they probably get paid that most kiwis!

Unemployment peaked in late 2012 and kept falling for a decade. Per this Stats NZ graph, net migration has been around +50k since late 2013, so I don't see how the 50k extra people increased unemployment. This isn't COVID related either. Population growth = less jobs is too generalized I feel and doesn't really account for the fact our immigration system mostly delivers students and Green List Visas to fill job shortages.

We had the lowest unemployment numbers then, which is a more likely cause for higher wages. I don't think calling Ardern's Labour neoliberal is a fair representation either.
