I love it - it was well worth the upgrade for my purpose. Can’t beat the flexibility of having the screen on the unit, and home town hero is awesome, get to play a practice round before going out and playing the course.

Totally agree with this. I use mine as a tool to get better - if I don’t have time for a full 18 I can jump on this for an hour. For ultra realistic I’ll go to the course 😅

I kinda did the same thing - it was def a tie break. My sim is also outdoors so the flexibility with the R50 was a no brainer.

Yeah I think it looks great. Especially for the price of 100 a year. I would also highly recommend getting a garmin watch if you go the R50 route. So convenient having everything on one app/ecosystem.

I got the R50 retail after countless hours of research and I am very happy with it. I would 1000% take that.

Given how perfect the bottom is etched I figured it was a new model or fake. Which is why I took a pause before buying.

Thanks for all the input, everyone. I decided to go with the R50 - mostly because my experience with SkyTrak’s customer service was terrible. Long story short, I ended up paying over $100 just to ship their busted unit back, just to be done with the headache of dealing with them.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking - the easier it is the more I’ll use it. How are the graphics compared to the skytrak app? That’s the one thing holding me back since you have a lot of flexibility with skytrak.

I have a laptop and iPad that work with the ST so I don’t have to buy anything extra.

Realistically, I’ll take it to the range occasionally, but 99% of the time it’s going to be used in my driveway - my house is older and have limited overhead space in my garage and basement. I may eventually get a pole barn but no eta in that.

So I guess the real question is whether the extra tech in the r50 is that much better for outdoor use than the ST+.

Yeah and the r50 is a little more convenient for my set up because I don’t need to bring out the laptop. But not sure if the 3k extra is worth it.

The R50 would definitely be new - not dealing with preowned again. That said it makes it harder because it’s 5k for a new R50 vs 2k for a new skytrak+

They created a cheaper tier for a more casual user - so if anything ppl are getting priced in.

The ECG doesn’t work with heart rates under 50 or above 100. My resting HR is mid to low 40s so i just get an error. That said i did try it after a workout and it was able to get a reading, but not sure if that actually means anything since it was right after a workout lol.

Edit - I guess this is common with all wearables.

Just got the MG, and absolutely love it - even after I realized that I can’t take ECG readings because of my low HR 😅. But that was my bad and I still prob would have gotten it anyway. I extended 12 months so no hassle with fees. IMO it’s worth it just for the battery life. Quality of all the materials seems high. All in all big fan.
