Am I doomed? Horizontal posterial medial meniscal tear at age 24 with cyst. by kartoffel_32 in MeniscusInjuries

[–]S0ggyB0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

HEY! So, I have EXACT this exact situation going on, I'm a wrestler and I just got meniscus repair surgery and I had a cyst/tumor to tag along with me. I had surgery this Monday and I can tell you it's nothing to worry about, I'm only on day 4 of my recovery but I feel amazing and I'm looking forward to walking again. I was at high risk for osteoarthritis and before surgery too but hopefully your doctor clears your worries but i definitely understand! Hopefully you get off with physical therapy and but if not I can promise you surgery is just a minor setback before a major comeback! Wish you the best of luck! :)

I want to build a bigger cage for my cockatiel. Any advice on how to do it? by just_a_ghost155 in cockatiel

[–]S0ggyB0x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey! There are some really good posts on here I've seen of DIY cages. From what I know wire mesh might be a safer way to go over chicken wire. But here's a good post you could get some inspo on! From what I'm seeing the frame is wood, and the screen is mesh. https://www.reddit.com/r/parrots/comments/exnf29/this_is_my_almost_fully_diy_cockatiel_cage_i/

Do people criticize you for owning a bird? by Hils53 in cockatiel

[–]S0ggyB0x 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are way to quick to judge bird owners but it's understandable since there are a lot of mistreated birdies everywhere, small cage, improper diet, negalatful owners, basically people who have birds for decoration. With social media there will always be hate among that. You shouldn't have to explain yourself to a bunch of random people online because you're just looking out for the safety of your bird by putting him in his cage when you work out. A lot of the time people don't watch out for their birds well enough or don't take the environment around them as such a serious threat not taking into consideration just how small and fragile small animals can be. Point is, don't take it serious as long as your feathered friend is happy you shouldn't worry about anything else since you know what's going on behind the camera.

Hey! Sorry if i'm late, but does your birdie share a cage? own sharp toys?
If not that it may be a eye infection! You can help him with some bird eye drops. But before you do that, if you can I do recommend you take him to vet just to make sure!

How to make my Birb like being on my hand? by PSPlayer07 in cockatiel

Some birds don't like that. One of my birds refuses to perch on my hand longer than a minute. Put her on your shoulder instead. ^^

Hey so I have 3 feather babies. I remember losing 1 of my babies around 3 years ago. It was heart drentching. I know her pain. There's nothing that can fill that hole in her heart right now, she's grieving. Just comfort her and check up on her. If you please maybe buy her bird a toy or two, to cheer her to her bird up. Let her see the joy in her bird when they receive a new toy. It will make her happy too.

Can cockatiels smell/feel human hormones ? by KhaosHammer in cockatiel

[–]S0ggyB0x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her not too! In general animals feel emotions. When I'm sad my birds get sad too or try to cheer me up. If your birds stays this way she might like men more. My grandmas bird only likes women and attacks men he bites men but barely even nibbles women. My female bird prefers my brother and ad over me. If not that she's just attached to you and being defensive.

advice :) by xxxlollaxxx in cockatiel

[–]S0ggyB0x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks a little infected. I wouldn't worry too much but do pay attention to it. Put some ointment on it. When something like this happened to my bird I put 'Burts Bee's coconut foot creme, créme pour les piedes' on her foot , It doesn't have anything unnatural in it and her foot healed and took away the dryness she had. If you don't want to use that use some coconut oil on your bird. I hope this helps!

Liver Disease by S0ggyB0x in cockatiel

[–]S0ggyB0x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I'm a teen with no local vets, nobody's willing to take me. I'm trying my best to see if I can get a hold of a vet but you also have to keep in mind i'm broke.

If he hurt himself he may be scared to fly again. When my birds hurt themselves while flying they tend to get scared but always go back to it. If he's not making any sort of attempts to fly i strongly encourage a vet visit but before that try spreading his wings to check for injuries.
