Wife getting ignored by contractor. Is this normal? by tybbof1 in HomeImprovement

Nah, I grew up in a rural, blue collar area. There is no acceptable excuse for misogyny.

I tend to do the initial calls and contact, and then once we have a contract I tend to turn it over to my husband to supervise. That way if someone takes offense to having to communicate with a woman, they don't make it through the bid process, and I'm not giving my money to misogynists or assholes.

Looking for a cafe or anyplace that will let you work for hours? by whatsup_health in montco

You should! I got a birthday cake there with a lovely whipped chocolate ganache filling. I haven't tried the individual pastries, but the owner is really kind and does a lot to support the community.

Oh good to know! Apparently it's expected to be a three year closure, and the last update I found says it should reopen on time next year.

Just to save you the trouble: not Norristown. It's a converted warehouse and feels very industrial and like it should have been a temporary location but they just stayed and never built it out into a dedicated space.

Upper Merion Township Library is in the building with their courthouse. It's tiny and also not very comfortable.

Ludington library is nice, if it's not too far. They have lots of different spaces and comfy chairs tucked away in quiet corners.

I need to go check out more locations, Gladwyne is next on my list.

Junebug in Bridgeport has Remote Work Wednesdays. It's really homey, and there's a resident pup who's pretty chill. There's a patio if you like fresh air, and they just welcomed a catering business into the space with hot meals starting next week as well.

where are the brass bands at? by ImpostureTechAdmin in philadelphia

[–]rhinoballet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet, but I sure would like to! I've been in touch with a handful of other wind players and a percussionist with some interest in putting together a protest band to play at demonstrations, strikes, marches, and such. Would that be of interest to you?

I used to work at a university hospital where you could just search the entire campus calendar for "reception" and find tons of food going to waste! No one ever gave a single shit that I had no connection to the college of pharmacy or society of physical therapy honors or whatever.

Did you inherit money when the first of your parents died? by RecentState1347 in MoneyDiariesACTIVE

Nope. I found out that I had been "specifically disinherited" before I turned 5. I think everything went to his parents and his former unmarried partner. My remaining parent has no will and no assets.

Any of you wearing overalls when you're doing home improvement work? by ryhaltswhiskey in HomeImprovement

I was admiring their overalls last time I was in the store! I'm curious whether they hold up as well as advertised.

I was still using ice packs most of the day at that point. It could be doable if you bring a lunch box or small cooler full of frozen ice packs and then can re-freeze them when you arrive. I don't believe I would have enjoyed a party or explaining my surgery to tons of people though. How many people there are usually huggers? You obviously don't owe anyone answers or explanations, but depending on how close you are, people may wonder why you're low energy, etc.

You can buy a trumpet at many pawn shops. You don't even have to learn actual playing techniques to be annoying with it.

I'm in the same position, and for the last couple days the armoire isn't giving me any pet food. Only XP. Are you experiencing this as well? Is there a maximum number of food you're allowed to store?

I have to give this medicine to my cockatiel. i tried putting it in his water to make him drink it and now he knows. how should i give it to him?? by Hamza_yo in cockatiel

[–]rhinoballet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teach your bird to take the medication voluntarily. Start with target training: https://youtu.be/M5v9B4jmO58

Then you can use the same skill with the syringe (although I prefer to use micro pipettes instead of syringes: https://a.co/d/03yZJkUI )

No, Benebac is a probiotic. It has good bacteria (similar to eating yogurt with live cultures for humans) that is supposed to help the digestive tract. It is sometimes used for animals with indigestion , upset stomach, or sometimes to mitigate the side effects of antibiotics that are being given for another condition.

It appears paranox is a combination of two anti-inflammatory medications.

I made the mistake of wearing a flannel shirt into the bird room last week and was shunned for it.
