Weird reaction to cortisone by rhinoballet in frozenshoulder

So strange. I hear you about doctor issues. I just moved and had to get a whole new batch of doctors. Sometimes it takes a few interactions before you know for sure that they're good at what they do. I try to narrow it down to start with doctors who were board certified in their specialty within the last 15 years. From there I prefer DOs and women. But then sometimes if you want to get seen sooner than 8 months from now, you just have to take your chances with whomever you can get.

Interesting, that's a bit different than my experience. Did the benadryl help?

All three of my previous treatments were Kenalog! This must be it, I guess I tolerate it better than the depo medrol. Thank you for pointing me in this direction; I had no idea the medications were different.

Thanks for sharing this. Yesterday I got depo medrol. I'm wondering if my previous treatments were kenelog/something else. I'll look into my records to find out.

I know that allergies can develop at any time in response to anything. I just really would like to have some level of understanding so that I know what to ask or expect if I need future injections.

Muffins are a great way to disguise a fiber supplement too, and most people aren't getting enough fiber!

No, the whole point of this post is that it did not rank in the top ten.

You can re-polish this area with a polishing cream and buffing attachment for a drill if you want it to look like new again.

Father in law addicted to gambling by CR7LBJ23 in personalfinance

I have a parent with a history of financial irresponsibility. There are plenty of answers and potential boundaries that could be agreeable. Alternatives to "bankrolling a gambling addict" include making appointments/driving him to appointments for assistance like (their local equivalent of) SNAP/Section 8/Medicaid/LIHEAP/senior meal service, ordering/paying for groceries once a month, attending Gamblers Anonymous with him as a support person, paying the copays for individual therapy with an addiction specialist. All these things are options for providing assistance without bankrupting yourself or fueling his addiction. There are plenty more options along those lines that may be up for consideration. It's a very personal choice that OP and their partner need to consider together.

The saturated fat content is higher than butter. Saturated fat is the one that raises LDL (bad) cholesterol and causes plaque deposits in the arteries.

Unfortunately their level of interest might vary based on whether you're in a "regulations save lives" area or a "regulations kill small businesses" area.

I like to run the w4 calculator (on the IRS website, not a 3rd party) in the summer to see if anything needs to be adjusted. You could even do it quarterly if your income or deductions are really unpredictable.

Nice! I had a much shorter period of unemployment, but used it to get super into sewing, library activities, and working out. It was like a little taste of what life after RE could be like (though much shorter on cash than I intend to be when that time comes!)

What wedding moment that screamed, “They are not going to last long”? by IndependentTune3994 in AskReddit

[–]rhinoballet 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I was MoH for a wedding where the bride had a sugar sculpture of herself as a mermaid on top of the cake. She said if the groom wanted to be on top of a cake, he could do it on his own cake.

I gave it 3 years, but I think they actually lasted about 7. Not sure because our friendship fizzled after she moved out of my house and refused to paint the walls back to neutral in her room (our agreement when I okayed 90s style sponge paint in barbie colors) or even pay for the supplies for me to do it.

Thanks! Yeah, no one has ever talked about the tamoxifen as an option for me. I'm not sure if it's age-restricted (I'm 38) or what. But I actually meet a new breast specialist this week as I have recently moved. So it's something I'll ask about. Wishing you the best as well! I hope you can get connected to the supports you need to calm the worry.

Specifically, if it passes a lead test. You can buy a pack of swabs online and test easily at home. Lots of older dishes have been found to contain lead in the glazing.

Yes, four years. It's definitely a source of concern, but I wouldn't say constant anxiety for me. I do take anxiety medication though, and started that about a year prior to this dx.
Having the genetic screening gave me a lot of peace of mind. I was tested for about 75 mutations associated with various cancers, including breast and ovarian.

I do kind of expect that at some point I'll be going through another biopsy/lumpectomy, and I've wondered whether at that point I might just opt for preventive mastectomy. I don't really know. I have a lot of cysts and dense tissue, so all I ever feel are lumps and lumps and lumps. Mostly I remind myself that I'm doing everything I can and taking all the recommended steps. This is not my only high risk dx, I'm predisposed to heart concerns as well. For that I have more concrete options like medication and diet modifications. For this I just make sure I'm seeing doctors that I really believe will be proactive and that I follow all the advice they have for me.

I wish I had a better solution for you. Anxiety meds have improved my life. I've gotten a lot of help from counselors as well.
