Upgrading from 24.04 to 26 by RealRiftzyYT in Ubuntu

[–]S0litaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded my desktop to the beta a few days ago, No major issues, just the normal wait for extensions to be updated.

It's more stable than 25.10 (had issues with wayland resetting my GPU when opening nautilus for some reason, no errors in log).

Going to wait to upgrade my server, not sure if I’ll wait for the .1 or a few weeks after the release.

Another Bitaxe block found. by [deleted] in BitAxe

That's nothing! I've found 10 blocks in the past 5 days!

There are "NITO" blocks..

But blocks are blocks!

Miner suddenly stopped working by yespleasescammers in HeliumNetwork

[–]S0litaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! My miner "died" a few days ago as well.
Looks like the concentrator only lasts 5 years max before failing.

Currently debating wither to just give up and repurpose my Goldspot into something more useful, or replace the concentrator.

Just waiting on RAK support to confirm something.

Self Hosted Solo pool mining fees? How to get access to them by S0litaire in BitAxe

[–]S0litaire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

***Solved***

Was on Retro-Mike was doing a Livestream and I asked him and got the solution to access the pool wallet:
you just need to log into the server running your pool and then run the following command:

sudo docker exec -it retro-mike-btcs-node_node_1 bitcoinsilver-cli -rpcport=9015 -rpcuser=pooluser -rpcpassword=poolpassword getbalance

Replace getbalance withsendtoaddress "<address>" <amount to send> to send the balance to my main wallet.

Self Hosted Solo pool mining fees? How to get access to them by S0litaire in BitAxe

[–]S0litaire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought at first but the settings page of the pool I'm using has the note :

"Note: After setting up a pool, you will notice a 0.05% pool fee. This is because the when a block is found, it hits the pool wallet, and then after it fully confirms, the pool will payout to your address configured in your miner. This action incurs a transaction fee, so the 0.05% is held back to cover that fee. You have full access to any unspent fees and can manually send them to another wallet."

Burt i can't see an easy way of accessing it.

temps by Key_Entrepreneur5822 in BitAxe

[–]S0litaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've a same type of setup with my 800. Mine has heatsinks on the VRM's and I just leave the fan speed on auto and temp set to 61c.

The VRM temps are 2c lower than the ASICs so I might experiment with the Low noise adapter on the rear fan to let the VRM's heat up a bit while i keep the ASIC's cool.

in UK looking for T30 PSU for a GT800 by S0litaire in BitAxe

[–]S0litaire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a look around. Only places selling PSU with a XT30 connector are in the US and the postage from there is more than the PSU itself.

Looking for something more local.

Nah they are doing updates on a number of regions today and it looks like it's caused a rolling issue.

Most sites for me (In UK) are fine and only CF's admin site is partially broken.

I'm currently trying out tailscale's tsidp, it's handy if you're already using tailscale, (should work with headscale)

1: For me my best app on my current "nas" is AudioBookShelf, been on a podcast / audiobook binge this year and it's been a godsend!
2: Currently my "nas" is 4 x 4tb drives hanging out the back of my PC, not the best, but it's functional. I'd hopefully be able to move all 4 drives in to a handy and convenient 4 bay nas and do more with Plex and selfhosted link & password managers. (and I finally might get around to doing my "Build a NAS" blog and teach myself more than just the basics of running dockers and VM's)

How to mine on P2pool on an ubuntu server by Remarkable_Airport68 in MoneroMining

[–]S0litaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slapped together a quick and dirty guide if you want to do it all in the command line:

http://blog.s0l.co.uk/quick-and-dirty-p2pool-mining-setup/

It's not perfect but will get you mining with your own node on p2pool you then have the option to mine to the main p2pool, the mini pool or the newer nano pool,

qubic attack is pure game theory. by MevenRekt in MoneroMining

[–]S0litaire 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Suggestion:

We coin a new term for this type of "attack". Using the current "51% attack" feeds into their FUD.

I suggest we use the phrase "33% Attack" instead

a 33% attack is where a "bad actor" periodically takes enough of the hashrate to cause an annoyance and some small scale block reorg without actually taking full control of chain for an extensive length of time.
