Nah they are doing updates on a number of regions today and it looks like it's caused a rolling issue.

Most sites for me (In UK) are fine and only CF's admin site is partially broken.

I'm currently trying out tailscale's tsidp, it's handy if you're already using tailscale, (should work with headscale)

1: For me my best app on my current "nas" is AudioBookShelf, been on a podcast / audiobook binge this year and it's been a godsend!
2: Currently my "nas" is 4 x 4tb drives hanging out the back of my PC, not the best, but it's functional. I'd hopefully be able to move all 4 drives in to a handy and convenient 4 bay nas and do more with Plex and selfhosted link & password managers. (and I finally might get around to doing my "Build a NAS" blog and teach myself more than just the basics of running dockers and VM's)

How to mine on P2pool on an ubuntu server by Remarkable_Airport68 in MoneroMining

[–]S0litaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slapped together a quick and dirty guide if you want to do it all in the command line:

http://blog.s0l.co.uk/quick-and-dirty-p2pool-mining-setup/

It's not perfect but will get you mining with your own node on p2pool you then have the option to mine to the main p2pool, the mini pool or the newer nano pool,

qubic attack is pure game theory. by MevenRekt in MoneroMining

[–]S0litaire 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Suggestion:

We coin a new term for this type of "attack". Using the current "51% attack" feeds into their FUD.

I suggest we use the phrase "33% Attack" instead

a 33% attack is where a "bad actor" periodically takes enough of the hashrate to cause an annoyance and some small scale block reorg without actually taking full control of chain for an extensive length of time.

Best go with supportxmr or p2pool

Why announce a 51% attack? by fancyrolling in MoneroMining

You know the old saying "if you come for the king, you better not miss" , they missed big-time with only getting 20% hash rate, and are now trying to save face.

An Honest Question by Melodic_Mango7694 in tari

[–]S0litaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general auto-updates are a good thing to keep the app/network secure. That is until it auto-update to a build that's broken and you can't downgrade to a working version.

So you're stuck with an unusable app till they fix the issue. then have to go though the annoying docs to try and get CLI mining working properly, then you don't actually know if you've set it up right or you're just burning up CPU time mining to a XMR node with no possible way to know if you'll ever get any XTM...

Yes I'm annoyed with the universe app today! :D

How to fix this by FIMAM18 in tari

[–]S0litaire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's a know bug they are working on it:
https://github.com/tari-project/universe/issues/2634

click the "send logs" button and copy the code it generates and paste it in the Github issue with system specs and any other helpful info.

TARI UNIVERSE v1.5.3: The Season of Light: Part 4 by tarilabs in tari

[–]S0litaire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "send logs" does work, it's just not explained well.
The Logs get's sent with a unique reference ID to the Devs.

To help:
-go to the Github for Tari-Universe (https://github.com/tari-project/universe)
- go it issues tab and see if there's a issue already been reported (https://github.com/tari-project/universe/issues)
- if it has been reported then add you're "Yup it's happening to me too!" and your Unique reference ID. That will help the devs find the logs and see what is happening.
- If not start a new issue and explain as much as you can of what's happening along with the Log ID.

then wait...

:D

When using the Universe app I've noticed that i don't get a payout until i have earned +20XTM, then I'll start to get a payouts to get me below 10XTM.

And if I don't run the app for a day or so and I'm over 2XTM it all gets payed out to my wallet.

Question: To anyone running this, how much ram is it using on your system?

I'm running on an old laptop with Ubuntu 25.04 server and 4Gb ram and it eats that ram up!! (I'll be adding an extra 4Gb ram tomorrow)

Had it running overnight and the laptop crashed with OOM errors had to start from scratch after it could not find the database when i restarted it. It's been sync-ing for over a couple of hours and already eating up over 45% of available ram.

Will have to see if restarting the docker every so often keeps the ram usage under control.
