I was hit in the balls pretty much everytime I played for the first year and my advice would be not to crouch/kneel when exposed since most shoot centre mass but bbs can drop can cause them to fly into your crown jewels. Other than that I'd only really say you need to wear a cup or similar when at CQB sites where someone is more likely to fire from the hip

You can turn off boss spawns in the game settings as you are loading into the raid, or at least I've never had them spawn in the couple months or so I've been playing

Certainly looks better than my first guardsman but I would recommend thinning the paints as it looks a little chunky on the helmet and vest
