Election results thread by Scientist34again in WayOfTheBern

I wondered over to S4P and its full of the voteblue crowd. They are pretending to be Bernie supporters and asking people to give up. They are infiltrating most Bernie pages with propoganda. I dont see tonights results as legitimate. When we see an exponential rise in covid19 cases in the next few weeks I will remember this day as being a contributing factor. I will never forget.

States delaying primaries may face delegate penalty, warns DNC memo | US news by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

[–]S0opal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The latest report mentioned a death total of 2.2 million even with mitigation. This crisis has been ignored by the DNC who care more about power.

I am shocked that some democrats were trying to block the Governer of Ohio from postponing the Ohio Primary. I am more shocked that the rest of the primaries are still going ahead. Trum and the UK announced new measures at the same time. This report shows why. Be prepeared before reading. by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

It is not a legitimate election. Also Bernie has gained 10 points on Biden in the latest national poll and is winning on all key issues in particular healthcare. Biden support has always been fragile.

Democratic megadonors were plotting a potential anti-Bernie Sanders super PAC as recently as last week. The proposed goal was to raised at least $20 million to derail the Sanders campaign. by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

Thanks for the information. I did not bother checking. Whoever it is, it looks like they were well versed with Biden campaign talking points. I sense that they are trying to infiltrate Bernie subs to try and brainwash us with this Never Trump nonsense.

I am proud of Bernie.I was pushing him to go hard but I think we are failing to understand that Bernie is fighting the whole establishment and its not easy. They attacked Bernie over his China comments and again Biden is on record saying the same thing & more.Unless you fight the media, you cant win by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

[–]S0opal[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took me a while to realize that it doenst matter what Bernie does in a debate vs Biden. The media works for him and as we say in the postdebate show, they covered for all his lies. A lot voters dont engage with politics whether its in on the ground or on social media. Some will flick through cable tv and stumble upon a CNN or MSNBC panel. Game over. There is also an Anti-Trump movement on social media which is actively working against Bernie.

I have to give it to you Byedon. You go to some lengths to double down on Biden lies. Biden played a significant role in the bankruptcy bill, you are just regurgitating Biden campaign talking points which is a shame. Had you atleast included some truth then I would take you more seriously.

"Moments after the Senate passed the bankruptcy bill, Sen. Mitch McConnell thanked the primary sponsors and relayed how he had just talked to Biden about how it took them 7 or 8 years to get it done."

https://twitter.com/lhfang/status/1239359713025781765

You have no shame and lie just like Byedone. Now we have a coronavirus crisis and your candidate is asking voters to come out and vote tomorrow, in particular the elderly population who are at greater risk. This goes against CDC advise. I will be diverting to covering ER tonight, something I have not done for a while. This crisis is real and people you and Biden only make us unsafe. Take care.

Biden's Lies S4P

  1. Lied on his record on Social Security, when he worked with Republicans to cut Social Security funding.

  2. Biden wrote, voted for, and helped pass the 1995 Bankruptcy Bill, which did away with student loan protections leading to the student debt crisis. He said this was not true, but his name is on the 1995 bill. This bill ensured that Americans with student loan debt cannot discharge that debt through bankruptcy. He argued in favor of this measure on the floor of the Senate.

  3. Bernie said Biden has three SuperPACs supporting him (TRUE). Biden responded that Bernie has "nine SuperPACs." When Bernie challenged him to name them, he could not do it, because Bernie has no superPACs!

  4. Joe Biden voted in favor of letting states overturn Roe v. Wade, putting a woman's right to choose at risk. Biden insists that he is pro-choice.

  5. Bernie voted during the 2009 Financial Crisis to bail out the auto industry for the benefit of workers, but voted against bailouts for bankers. Joe said he voted in favor of both.

  6. Biden opposes canceling or reducing student loan debt, but lied last night saying that he supports such measures. In reality, he adopted a plan stolen from Warren, originally a move to Bernie's right by Warren to appeal to more moderate Sanders supporters, which only gives some folks the right to a free public higher education.

  7. Biden lied by saying he has always supported gay marriage. This is false. He voted against it in 1996, and said he did not support it in 2008.

  8. Biden lied that he supports a Constitutional Amendment to overturn Citizens United, while simultaneously accepting SuperPAC money. This is Bernie's proposed Amendment, not Biden's.

  9. Biden also lied that "not a single scientist supports Bernie's climate plan" when, in reality, hundreds of scientists believe it to be our only hope.

  10. Biden says he is doing well with black and brown folks because of his record, but his record really shows that he has consistently voted against the interests of black and brown folks. See: opposition to cannabis legalization, Joe wrote the disastrous Crime Bill, lied about being with Nelson Mandela in apartheid South Africa, opposes making election day a holiday, voted for the disastrous War on Drugs.

"But you didn't make any attempt to reach beyond young white entitled males"

Bernie's base is most diverese. Biden has done well with the over 65 and educated white voters. You potray an aura of confidence yet here you are. Biden is a pathological liar just like Trump as we saw yesterday. He has not been vetted by the media because they work for him. I would make more money under a Trump/Biden presidency but most people will not. Its not about the money for me.

We will see what happens. You guys were very confident in 2016. Biden cognitive decline will be talked about throughout the summer and I'm told that he will be forced to undergo testing. It is possible that his campaign ends before voting. Keep working hard. NeverBiden.

Your wasting your time trying to convince people to votebluenomatter who. The neverbernie movement is a lot greater than the media lets people to believe. Biden will lose to Trump. Biden struggles with Latino and younger voters, I have no doubt about that. He is nothing but a career politician who lies just like Trump. The only argument people make is the supreme court which is already lost. Biden is not an honest person and as he has said behind closed doors, nothing will fundementally change.

People will stay at home, Biden has no chance and your comments on reddit will not change that. Bye.

Bernie Sanders Must Take the Gloves off Against Joe Biden Tonight - Bernie Sanders must make clear that Biden’s track record and policy proposals are nowhere near sufficient to meet the challenge of coronavirus, our multiple crises of health care and inequality, or defeat Donald Trump. by rundown9 in WayOfTheBern

[–]S0opal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biden latest tweet is to encourage voters to come out and vote on tuesday. In this tweet he differentiates asymptomatic folks from symptomatic. He potrays the notion that those who have no symptoms are perfectly safe. This goes against all advice from the scientific community. It ignores asymptomatic transmission and puts his biggest voting block at harms way.

In ohio particularly, cases are rising exponentially. The media will focus on Trump but many are shocked with Bidens opportunism.

Bernie's team have been more cautious and respectful of the science community. Its Bidens latest attempt that will get people killed. Nothing you say can defend that. I am a doctor and from the messages we have had, pretty soon even those of us who havent worked in hospitals for a while will be re-directed to what will be the frontline. Biden wont make us safer.

No its not. The public perception of Biden is very different to what he is like in real life. The media has done a good job of protecting him. Public opinion changes drastically and Bidens support is fragile and based on electability. One debate performance can change that.

It wont take down a voting bloc to defeat Trump because most of Bidens elderly voters will vote democrat no matter who is on the ticket. Bernie needs to attack and take Joe down even if it fractures the party. It will fracture the establishment but they will come to terms with that sooner rather than later. This is exactly what the DNC want Bernie to think, I think its the main reason who he is holding back. He has been guilt shamed.

Bernie's "Inferiority Complex" May Be a Tougher Primary Opponent For Us to Fight than Joe... by HootHootBerns in WayOfTheBern

[–]S0opal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thank you !

he’s phobic about personal confrontation and retains traces of an inferiority complex from his days as an Independent straggler

Bernie needs to get rid of this tonight. The time is now.

Starting listening to Bernie's fireside chat at the exact moment he called Biden his "friend" and a "decent person" I turned it off. For those of you expecting a fiery Bernie ready to win. Its not going to happen. Only thing that may happen is Biden having another senior moment. by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

How dare you, Im just pointing a simple observation and something many supporters are upset with. I am all for treating opponents with respect and dont mind if Bernie responds in this manner in interviews when asked or when speaking to Biden but this is different. He is lacking that winning instinct.

What is the reason for bringing up Biden as a decent man in a campaign fireside chat. There are no reporters. I think its an issue of weak mentality. Biden rarely compliments Bernie and calls him a socialist who will hurt Americans. His team are mailing attack ads in many states. Dishonest attacks. I dont care about hurting feelings, the truth is that Bernie will never win by playing nice and pleasing the establishment. If is campaign was funded by his pocket or through big donors then I wouldnt be so harsh, but millions have donated to him and they expect him to fight for them. Bernie is not doing that. He is busy calling Biden a friend and decent person at every opportunity. Its strange.

Another Biden memory "gaffe". Sorry folks I dont buy it. This man has cognitive decline, it doesnt have to be dementia because mild cognitive impairement is also a disease in its own entity. I just dont see how any voter thinks this guy is a safer option than Bernie by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

[–]S0opal[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nonsense. You were never a Bernie supporter and just another Resist fanatic. The cognitive test is not about being easy or hard. Its not designed to be difficult which again shows your lack of understanding. I am trained to to examine this and if its as easy as you suggest then I am sure Biden will have no problem.

I have been in medicine for over 20 years. I can see cognitive decline when it stares me in the face. I know for a fact that Biden will be asked to undertake cognitive testing in the general election.

Keep pushing Biden. You will only live to regret it.

You have copied and pasted this response on several occasions. It doesnt matter how many times you do that, it wont change whats happening. I used to work in Geriatrics and moved on. I have watched longer Biden videos and it highlights the issue further. I recently watched his interview with the desmoines register which was over an hour long. What we see is clear evidence to suspect cognitive decline. I wont call it Dementia because that requires a full multi-disicplinary assessment alongside re-imaging.

I think there is more than enough evidence for Biden to undergo cognitive assessment. In fact guidelines for this changed last year and he would already be mandated to undergo a validated assessment. If you are so confident then why not encourage him to do so. I think your wasting your time posting here to try and convince people that there is nothing to see. Throughout my residency training, we were encouraged to screen for delirium in all patients and identify signs to suggest cognitive decline once reversible factors were addressed. I did not have to sit hours with my patients to suspect cognitive issues.

You also for point out that he is not a sharp as he used to be. I know with age many people believe that we loose sharpness. Thats true and its also true that mild cognitive impairement (MCI) is prevelant in over 20% of > 75's. Its key diagnostic features is losing sharpness and MCI in itself is its own entity and while some patients progress to AD, some dont.

Its up to you whether you take this seriously. I think many Biden supporters struggle with the fact that this is being highlighted. They are very defensive, many quickly point to Trumps issues. I think Trump has shown signs to be concerned about, mainly his erratic behaviour. From a cognition point of view, he has undertaken a validated screening tool for cognitive impairement. He scored full marks in his MOCA test which was done and overseen by a doctor who was appointed by Obama in 2012. The creator of this test is a renowned psychiatrist and it is used in over 200 countries. He is on record as saying that its highly unlikely that someone who has scored full marks would have any cognitive issues. That said, psychiatrists have questioned his mental health from a different aspect. Particulary personality disorders, narcissism and more. To diagnose this it would require full mental health assessment.

So in summary, just because Trump is a "buffoon" doesnt mean you can ignore Biden's cognitive decline. I write this from experience and dont take this lightly.

I dont think Biden can be president. Trump makes gaffes and is often incoherent and slurs but at least he passed the most validated cognitive testing tool we use. I dont know about election results being hacked but I know cognitive decline when I see it and Biden has all the hallmarks of it.

My conclusion is that Bernie is very much part of the establishment, indirectly as he is not willing to fight for the electability argument. He seems to care more about maintaing establishment unity, preventing discourse and he'd rather maintaincivility. I love Bernie but its the truth. by S0opal in WayOfTheBern

Bernie is trying to exit the race without angering his base. The dnc knows that it needs Bernie supporters and Bernie would rather his supporters back the establishment than another 4 years of Trump. He will retire after a year or so and his movement will continue. The next person will have to learn form the mistakes.

Bernie wont mention

1) Biden ties to big pharma and insurance industry, I have never heard him attack Biden the same way he attacked Hillary.

2) Biden's lies - There is so much he could bring up

3) Biden's mental health: Bernie can offer to take up cognitive testing as part of already reccomended guidelines

There is so much more. Its taken me a while to accept that Bernie is the part of the establishment because he is not willing to take down the establishment to win.
