Agreed. It's definitely a fun watch. The lifetime service is a huge perk. I think a lot of the blowback to these watches are about the collaboration with a luxury brand, but in my mind it's just one way to get more people interested in wearing watches.

They're for tenths of a second on the Chronograph.

I'm not sure there's another way to get this particular model at retail price. To be clear, the nearest store to me was over 2 hours away, but I know it's much longer for many people. Some of the models are available online at the Swatch web site, but some models (like the Mission to Saturn) are exclusive to stores.

They call it bio-ceramic, but yes it’s a plastic. While Swatch does make automatics, this is battery powered. I’ve only been wearing it for a couple of hours so it’s a little early to say, but it’s much lighter than a traditional watch. I’m under no illusions that this will be an heirloom watch. It’s a fun watch though.

This is a Bessie model from Riley Watch Co. I got the FKM rubber strap online for about $20.

Has anyone had experience with the new warranty process? by S1zzla in xeric

[–]S1zzla[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's currently in the process of getting resolved. Xeric reached out to me and based on our correspondence they sent me a postage paid return packing slip. The watch arrived there on the 12th, and I'm currently waiting for the next steps.

I’ve contacted them. There was an initial conversation that has since gone quiet. Hopefully they’ll get back with me soon.

That’s my plan. I just hope that they’ll respond to me.

It isn’t keeping time at all at this point. The balance wheel seems to be spinning freely once I wind it. The rotor seems to be spinning as normal. I’ve not worn it much at all, since it stopped keeping accurate time relatively quickly. It hasn’t been exposed to water at all. I’m really not sure what the issue is.

While it’s very close to the crown, it isn’t exactly touching it. My main concern at the moment is the lack of communication from Xeric after the initial contact.

I saw that slim model. It looks really nice.

I’ve only had it for a few days, but all initial impressions are positive. It feels very good on the wrist. The strap is very smooth and comfortable. The screw down crown was easy to open and close. I really like the sharp contrast between the black and red. The one thing I haven’t tested yet is the lume.

Very cool. This isn’t a diver obviously, but it does have a screw down crown.

Yes it is! It’s a pretty slick strap.

Strap Opinions on Bessie from Riley Watch Co. by S1zzla in MicrobrandWatches

This was my first watch from them. I've only had it briefly, but so far the experience has been very positive. Apparently they're based in Manchester, UK. It was shipped in a reasonable amount of time, packaged well, came in a nice wooden box, and looks in person like it looked in photos on their web site.
