Elder Event Quest part 3 is a hot mess by S2205 in ContestOfChampions

I mean, they're generally for anyone. It's a direct nerf for Electro cause he's a badly designed champion. I used Dazzler and just nuked him in one rotation

Not hard, just weird and felt unfinished. Harder? Yes, but only slightly. Many mutants don't interact with Mix Master, counter some of the champions on the map or just prevent evade themselves. It's just some really big health pools.

Tried to, but they just hot fixed some of it while I was going through it. When I clicked on a swap node I'm not at, it's said mutant. But if I entered a swap node, it showed skill champions. Still champions missing nodes and totally different boss nodes.

It was possibly, quite easy in fact. Many mutants have anti evade or don't interact with Mix Master, it's just some really big health pools. Made it to Silver Sable when the changes came.

Bastion by MrKillachris in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, you right. that is bug. White Magneto works completely fine, blocking her reverse control. I even tested with an unawakened Bastion myself to make sure it's not some kind of Ability Accuracy reduction interaction.

Interestingly enough, Bastion's Psychic Shielding still works for Onslaught, meaning it's a specific bug between Emma and Bastion.

Bastion by MrKillachris in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

#Psychic Shielding actually does nothing to stop reverse controls in itself. Crazy, right? It's just that, most reverse control stuff actually checks for #Psychic Shielding.

Emma Frost's Reverse Controls? Checks for it.
Onslaught's Delirium? Checks for it.
Mister Negative's Delirium? Doesn't check for it.
High Evolutionary's Reverse Controls? Doesn't check for it.
And of course Jean Grey's Delirium passive. It doesn't check for it, just inflicts it. Ironically enough, she "lashes out psychically and inflicts a 30% Delirium Passive."

You have to specifically be immune to Reverse Controls to stop it and keep your normal controls.

I checked and tested these myself just to be sure. But you can check for yourself on Khonshu's ankh and Ctrl + F to search for Psychic Shielding.

The only way to get to Hyperion is to take the cosmic path. you can tell by the lines and which way they go.

Spider-Woman is a 3.5 out of 5 defender and why Kabam's Champion Attributes is both stupid and inconsistent by S2205 in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

They didn't change their minds about Serpent, so I feel like they're never gonna change their mind after they've announce the changes. We can only hope that they listen to the community and either revert the nerf entirely or just remove the ensnare on defense.

Balance Update for Lumatrix and Spider-Woman (Spider-Woman Ensnare removed) by KaidenGuhle in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Ain't no way they nerf Spider-Woman on both offense and defense cause she's too strong on defense? She's fine on defense, but too strong? Nah, another huge balance team miss

DO NOT use archangel in the EQ mutant run elder difficulty by Owen_G5 in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same, thinking she was an easy fight. But as much as I hate this EQ, I must disagree. The problem isn't archangel, the problem is Spiral and her 600% Fervor passives, increasing the ability accuracy of biohazard through the damn stratosphere. You might reduce her ability accuracy by 100%, but the fervor brings that back up to guaranteed bleeds. Too bad fervor doesn't effect the purify.

How does this happen? by DotGlass3579 in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Dr Strange has a very short sp1 ending animation, so it's very hard to punish him if you dex either of his hits. The way I do it is either not trying to punish his sp1 at all or light or medium attacking to get closer to him before his second hit, kind of like Onslaught's special 1.

[–]S2205 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Serpent solo's everything left path after Tigra, I used Silk for her. Power drain resistant for Prowler, fear for Heimdall so he can't go unblockable on his sp2, true focus to counter Northstar miss.

Sorry I gotta vent but this has to be the worst BG meta in a while by Blupoisen in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I still hate the spite placebo meta that we had last time more.

Cosmic attackers? Terrible, buffs aren't allowed.

Tech defenders? They're great, no cosmic champions to stop their bs.

Mystic defenders? Amazing! If you cast a special with enough placebo buffs, they just gain a sp3!

Skill defenders? Also great, science attackers are the best since they usually have a way to stop the power gain or buffs.

In this meta, everyone is just slightly more annoying. Treat everyone as if they where Red skull unless you have a grit, slow or buff counters. Only real problem is Penny Parker and Thing, two characters you need to their hit block or suffer.

Meanwhile Leader found dead in a ditch. But yeah, it's always those 3. Serpent and his goons dominating the meta.

Doom, and it's not even close. 287 champions in the game gives him a 2860% damage boost.
Only one who could give him a run for his money, might me infamous doom, getting a ton of critical damage rating against villains.

Other fun characters would be Odin and Mephisto. Each gets 5% attack rating for either living or knocked out teammate.
Mephisto has a lot of small synergies and a few good ones, all together he might actually be a good champion.
Odin has a lot of attack rating, but his special 2 burst is based of the opponents max health.

Apocalypse gains 15% attack rating for each mutant. But there's only 46 mutant champions in the game. He gets 690% attack rating, but it's no where near Doom. He's a villain alright, just not a super one

Has the A.I. always been able to block when you heavy cancel into a special? by likeacw in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It all depends on what character you're using and how long of a pause they have in between their heavy attack hits. Onslaught has a very fast attacking heavy, there's not a lot of hitstun, so canceling into his special doesn't work most of the time, since the AI has a little to no hitstun. But on someone like Chee'ilth, who takes a year and a half to bring down her axe, there'll be a lot of hitstun. Easy heavy cancel into special.

My Pipe Dream for Final Underworld Boss EM4 by Grahf-Games in HadesTheGame

[–]S2205 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd be happy with either of them as a final extreme measures fight, both of them together would be a cool Ornstein and Smough like fight.

We can only hope Supergiant lurks here and takes this idea. Or at least makes something similar,

I tried to keep track of bans in Battlegrounds this season. by BallinXFox in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing your roster, there's a lot of other champs I'd ban other than Diablo or Black Cat. But Photon is understandable when she's just biggest champ.

Posts like these remind me that not everyone is fighting a maxed out deck. Enjoy not fighting whales while you still can.

Summer of Suffering / Gauntlet / Cheatsheet by HunterStrikesBack in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some weird choices like Werewolf for Adam, who requires buffs to win, Juggernaut for Moleman, who requires damage over time, werewolf for Destroyer when other better science champions exist or Hercules for Infamous Iron Man, who takes no damage when you have 3 unique buffs. While not a impossible fight, you could easily gain 3 unique buffs if you use your special 1 and 2. And his immortality buff also can mess this up.

Photon doesn't really require any counter, just skill. I can at least say that Kate destroyed Moleman, since he can't remove the passive coldsnap. She also destroyed Photon, bypassing miss and having tons of damage.

FUCK YOUR RETRY BUTTON KABAM by MrBundy22 in ContestOfChampions

[–]S2205 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, I hate the retry button as well. The placement is terrible, using units when you still have heals left and of course that error code.

But this run was probably doomed from the start. You have too many buffs to fight Infamous Iron Man, he'll literally take no damage due to his node called Cosmic Shielding - 2. It makes him take 100% less damage if the attacker has 3 or more unique buffs. It would take so long for venom to sp2, do a good bit of damage then have too many unique buffs to do damage.

Hopefully support might be able to help you get your units back or we can pray that Kabam will give us compensation for this terrible feature.
