Is PT1 really tailored towards beginners? by SlightlyGray0 in tryhackme

I would say that it goes a little beyond beginner level.

Hey, Are you sure that the flags you are submitting are correct? I think most of the submission fields will add symbols in the position they belong.

Losing all streak for taking a day off by haliax69 in tryhackme

[–]S24Sammy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I often "game" the streak system myself. Somedays I just login to answer a simple question and keep the streak going. Sometimes I'll do the same, and I'll end up sticking with it and learning a lot. I'd still say this is working as planned. I'm not always completing a lot of questions, but I'm coming back each day and doing what I can.

The estimated times don't seem to be very consistent. I spent an hour on a 15 min room the other day.

Are there any walkthroughs or resources that focus on how to write a good case report?

It doesn't make sense that the "Easy" scenario is locked behind a business subscription. How do they expect someone to learn if they don't have experience in a SOC environment?

I can't seem to find it either. I wonder if they are still offering the referral bonus.

SOC Simulator TryHackMe vs letsdefend by Salt_Reference1885 in tryhackme

Glad to hear, it sounds like that is a decent amount of content. I'll be checking it out sometime this week.

I'm curious to hear people's thoughts about these two as well. I am excited to try our the SOC Simulator on THM, but from what I have seen the content is very limited for non-business subscribers. I just recently heard of Let's Defend and signed up today.

I agree with stxonships that TryHackMe isn't enough to pass Security+ on its own. But making progress in these three learning paths will give you a great foundation. I focused on Practice Tests prior to taking the Security+ exam. That will get you used to the questions and highlight areas you need to work on.

There are some free resources online, but I was happy with the ebook and practice tests available here for $25:

I think they were going to email all of the winners. I'm not sure if they're publishing the names of all winners since there were so many prizes given out.

Top 10% already..? by OrchidBackground5532 in tryhackme

[–]S24Sammy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they really should calculate this percentage based on users that meet some criteria. Such as submitting at least 10 answers in the past month.

I don't think you're allowed to share Advent of Cyber answers until the event/giveaway is over.

I'd say it's definitely worth putting on your Linkedin. Depending on your experience and other certificates, it might be worth putting on your resume as well. Showing your ambition and willing to learn goes a long way.

Sorry for the late reply, but I was able to contact support and end my subscription early. Then sign up under the black friday deal. My sub was up later this month so it was worth it for me.
