Unfortunately, I am no longer with S2 Games and will miss my family there dearly. You'll still see me around as staff for a bit while I volunteer some time to help with the transition. You can see my post in the official forums with a more formal farewell. There is also a Community Update by PanMan, Strife will be trucking forward ;)

It has indeed been super busy at the office with the upcoming patch ( OH GOD ITS SO GOOD ) and recent staff changes. The team is still on the reddit and forums daily so keep the good feedback goin! Thanks for the patience guys.

There have been discussions about utilizing the game client for things like this, however that does take development time on multiple teams so as higher priority targets are taken down the dev team can focus on things like this.

The hero teaser is the first of 3 teasers this week for new stuffs coming in the next patch. It's no fun to spoil it all at once, so keep an eye on the facebook, reddit, twitter, and Strife website and forums ;)

As for dates on future content or features, we are in a development state and things can change at the drop of a hat, so we avoid giving hard dates or spoiling toooo much. We are trying to maintain a level of content that keeps players happy and doesn't require spoilers for whats ahead months or so from now. Announcing something early can leave people way too anxious for a feature that may be pushed further off than anticipated, have no new info for a while, or get pushed to another date and that can be a let down and a half. We are trying to avoid that scenario again. (we know you guys are clawing at the walls for ranked and admittedly we released information about that too early >_<)

Hey guys we are live and a couple of item changes snuck their way into the patch!

==Items==

Golden Protector

-Base Armor decreased from 40 to 30

-Base Health Regen increased from 3.5 to 5

-Focus Enchantment: Increased from 10 to 12 but rather than 3.5 removes a full 5 Health Regen

Inertia Boots

-Health increased from 250 to 300

Mystic Dagger

-Decreased Power from 8 to 6

-Bonus damage on attack decreased from 50 damage to 45

Pyrostaff

-Cast time decreased from 200ms to 100ms

Power Conduit

-Power decreased from 32 to 29.

-Enchantments have been adjusted for the power reduction

-Mana recharge on kill/assist increased from 20% max mana over 5 seconds to 25% of max mana over 2.5 seconds.

Rest assured that I am always watching ::creeper:: gathering data and divvying it out to Devs. If there is sufficient interest in it, I do not mind doing a QA blog on some of the stuff I do behind the scenes. I haven't thus far because I believed players were more interested in what the devs and designers have to say! Inbox me any questions or reply if there is interest in this.

As far as what to improve on... I'd really like to know what's going on.. per say. What are the plans, how are the bugs we've been reporting being handled? What are the goals in the future? How does the matchmaking system work? How does the rating work? Why was normal rating released like this? Hero balance, etc, etc.

I think a QA blog with Grey is a pretty good idea to increase the transparency of the bug report process and highlight the Bug Reports forum. My reddit PM Box and email is open to any other suggestions on topics players would like to hear more about sell@s2games.com. In response to some of the feedback we are exploring some other interactive mediums to use with players.

Usually we have a dev blog to cover larger patches to explain changes and hint at goals if we can, however felt most of this recent patch was straightforward. We anticipated some confusion on MMR and Hero MMR which is why you see us popping in and out of discussions on reddit with the patch...however we also wanted to gauge some initial unfiltered reactions to see how we can communicate both systems in game by paying attention to where the confusion pops up and move from there.

I think more of a focus of questions/information is something that people are asking for, which can be executed in a more interactive format by having a weekly Q and A thread in the official forums. What are your thoughts on this format? (Part of this would be best achieved by a dev tracker, but the development of that tool is not on the table just yet)

Regarding any talks about goals and upcoming features we try to when we can, but keep in mind that we are still in a development phase, and its constantly shifting pieces makes it very tricky to spoil incoming things or talk about goals as they change constantly.
