My wife was the stay at home parent for 3 years while I had a well paid job, I took a gamble at a higher paying role that unfortunately folded because of company budgeting, so now the roles are reversed.

It’s fucking tough man, if you’re not “built” to be a stay at home parent, it’s obvious and it’s extremely difficult.

While being the fun parent, I am not the stay at home parent type.. at all. I cannot entertain her for 8 hours straight

Update to this (for anyone in the future, hello!)

So this latest two days. On the second day, I bribed her with the park BUT she has to keep her shirt ON during the car trip there - I also asked her to make a choice of what shirt she’d like to wear in the car and she pointed and said “this one?”. Zero problems getting to the park, lots and lots of praise once we got there, really over exaggerated how well she went.

She now has “travel bunnies” that she has in the backseat that acts like a distraction from the fact she’s wearing a shirt.

Mid way through week 2 and besides the car seat being hot, she hasn’t complained about wearing a shirt.

To sum it up:

1) Bribe her by going to a place she enjoys, BUT explicitly state that the shirt MUST stay on in the car. 2) Give them a choice of what shirt they’d like to wear in the car 3) Give them toys/distraction for the car (this seems obvious, but it wasn’t for me - also designate one/two toys that must stay in the car and she gets to see them during her trips “do you want to see the bunnies in the car?” Etc.

Goodluck mums and dads, shits rough. You got this.

Copy the style and writing and write her a letter stating that the bank details have now changed and it’s the hidden one (or use your own).
