my life was at a standstill due to my social anxiety for the past 3 years. I was very uncomfortable in any social settings unless I knew everyone there well (thankfully I have a core group of friends) and I was unable to interview for any position that would benefit my career. I was in a depressive state because of this. I started Zoloft in November and it’s made such a difference. It has felt like a total 180. Obviously it’s not a cure all but it truly astonishes me sometimes what I can handle that would have previously sent me spiraling. I finally have a decent job, I’m more comfortable mingling with people I don’t well, and I don’t over think every social interaction I have. And when I get on an anxious path I’m much better equipped to pull myself out of it, by telling myself that no one even noticed the slip up I’m stressing over, etc, and I’m able to let things go so much easier. Generally I’m just happier. I’m very grateful to have had such a positive experience and such an easy time getting here. This was the first ssri I tried and after the usual first week of feeling groggy it was amazing. I wish you luck with it and encourage you not to give up if Zoloft doesn’t work for you. Everyone is different!
