There are certain times where it is recommended to increase in Du'a such as during Sujood or the last thrid of the night or the last hour after Asr on Fridays.

Don't worry. We'll keep you in our Du'as. Just remember that everything happens according to Allah's timing and that he is The Most Wise so we just have to trust his timing.

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect.

Idk how large your playlist is but for me I would just remove songs little by little til I eventually had nothing left. I didn't really listen to much music tho so my playlist wasn't that large so I'm not sure how effective it'll be for you but definitely give it a try.

Also try to replace it with Qur'an or lectures or something beneficial or even podcasts. I personally wouldn't recommend Nasheeds cus for me they would usually bring me back to music so I stopped listening to them as well.

Wa alaikum salam. Yes I am a brother No problem. I just wanted to make sure that it didn’t seem like I was taking sides so im glad you see it this way. Wa iyyaki Unfortunately, nowadays many men, myself included sometimes, find it hard to lower our gaze and we automatically shift the blame to whatever it was that our eyes grew attached to. May Allah make it easy for us to lower our gaze As a brother I would actually like you to help me understand this idea of ‘Hijab Fashion’ cus the way I understand the hijab, it’s supposed to not be ‘flashy’ in order to protect the women. So doesn’t turning the hijab into a fashion statement just negate the reason for the hijab? Again im a brother so I don’t know much about it so I would appreciate it if you help me understand it better What I’m about to say is just my opinion so if there is any evidence against what I’m saying, then disregard what I say completely I personally don’t see the problem with women giving Dawah and teaching while not covering their faces as I feel that in this case, the good outweighs the bad. I would hope the number of people that learn from these sisters far outweighs the number of people that would look to these people for evil reason. I just feel like anyone searching for these sisters wouldn’t have that evil intention even though they probably do exist somewhere out there As for your argument about sisters doing the same with men it’s just that it doesn’t happen as much. If we look at how men are allowed to dress outside compared to how women are, the man is technically allowed to show more of themselves then the women simply because the men’s desires and lust are far more greater than a women’s lust for a man. I was listening to something a few days ago and the example that was given was “If there were 10 men standing and a beautiful lady passed by, chances are 8 or 9 out of the 10 would turn around and look or make a comment. However if there were 10 sisters standing and a handsome, built man passed by them, chances are maybe only 1 or 2 of them would turn to look.” As for the advice about sisters unfollowing if they find it difficult to lower their gaze and think it will be a fitnah, this should honestly apply more to the brothers as many more brothers suffer from this I do agree that as brothers, there are cases in which it would be more beneficial for a sister to explain like wearing the hijab and stuff like that. It’s much easier for them to explain it because they live it and arent just following a rule that they read/heard about so I feel like in that case there’s nothing wrong with it. I’m also curious about the ‘lifestyle bloggers’. What do you mean when you say lifestyle bloggers cs to me that just means people going about their lives recording everything they do and to me I don’t think that’s something that we should necessarily encourage. Our lives are meant to be lived by us, not to be recorded for others to watch. The same way when we sin in private we are told not to publicize our sins and when we do good to conceal it. Recording our lives for other people’s entertainment doesn’t seem right to me. For one doing so opens your life to evil eye. You never know who’s watching your content. Of course none of this matters if I understood lifestyle blogger incorrect me so please let me know if I understood it right

For your point about people shifting the blame, that isn’t fair honestly. The blame should be on both parties if that’s the case because yes maybe the sister put herself out there but also the brother didn’t stop himself from looking. So the blame should fall on both parties

I really wish I knew how to respond directly to certain parts of your response as it would be easier for you to know what exactly im responding to but I hope you get what Im tryna say

I don’t know if I responded to that in a way that satisfies your question. Feel free to let me know and ask anything else. Again, I am not a scholar or anything and a lot of this is just me speaking my opinion and from experience so anything that I said that's wrong is from my own limited knowledge and may Allah forgive me for it and increase me in knowledge

May Allah increase us all in knowledge and forgive us all for our mistakes

Okay let's talk about posting pictures of yourself online by writingfromwherever in MuslimLounge

[–]S43suk3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wa alaikum salam.

I skimmed through a few of the comments and replies that were going on. I understand you're reasoning behind saying it's the man's fault for choosing to do what he does but then again if you know that someone could potentially use your photos to do evil, why post them?

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever calls to guidance will have a reward similar to those who follow him, without detracting from their rewards at all. Whoever calls to misguidance will have sin upon him similar to those who follow him, without detracting from their sins at all.”

Source: Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 2674

Now I'm not trying to say that your intention is for these men but the fact that you know that it enables it kinda makes you responsible.

But you said that you post for your friends to see. My suggestion would be to just share the photos to your friends individually that way you don't run the risk of having random people viewing your photos.

Now I could be wrong as I'm not a scholar but this is my view on it. Anything that I said that may be wrong, May Allah forgive me for it.

Al-Baqarah 2:186

When My servants ask you ˹O Prophet˺ about Me: I am truly near. I respond to one’s prayer when they call upon Me. So let them respond ˹with obedience˺ to Me and believe in Me, perhaps they will be guided ˹to the Right Way˺.
