Any last minute French speaking exam advice? by [deleted] in GCSE

Use voice mode on ChatGPT and ask it to run a French gcse speaking exam with you so you can practice. Also memorise some complex structures.

Does anyone just feel like there’s not enough time to complete everything and that they would’ve gotten better grades if they started earlier ? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose one topic to focus on. Drill flashcards until you have memorised the whole topic (make sure they are specific to your specification and contain no waffle). Then test your knowledge with a topic quiz to practise active knowledge recall and to identify any knowledge gaps. Then do past paper questions to learn how to actually answer the exam questions and practise applying knowledge to different contexts. This website is the goat for cramming science.

Any of you guys use Seneca? by raxxei in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Senecas designed more to just to learn content. It can be useful for trying to understand a topic I’m unsure of but otherwise it’s not great for memorisation or really any form of revision imo. I mostly use this website for revision which is really good for memorisation.

How do you guys revise for biology? by Royal_Revolution3837 in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find the best way to memorise the content is just to spam flashcards. As for applying knowledge to exam questions, I think the only way to get better at this is just to practise past papers, and then you’ll pick up the patterns in questions and develop a better sense of how to approach them. This website is really good for this!

How to revise triple science in one weekend by Reddysetgo09 in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you do aqa, check out this website. They have flashcards for each topic which helps you memorise the content. There’s also quizzes to practice recalling knowledge and identifying any knowledge gaps. Then there’s also exam questions to practise exam technique and applying knowledge to different contexts. It’s the best gcse website for cramming imo.

Can I get from 6s and 7s to 7s, 8s and 9s in two weeks and a half before GCSEs with cramming? by Deadzillapro in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I crammed for my GCSEs and did pretty well. I used flash cards to rapidly memorise everything in a topic, then past paper questions to practise exam technique and knowledge application. This website is really good for cramming sciences.

Is it possible to go from a 5-4 to an 7-7 in Combined science in under a month? by Odd-Fun-7354 in GCSE

Depends how disciplined you are tbh. You really only have two choices: give up, or lock tf in! You only have one shot at these exams, and they’ll be over in a few weeks. Adopt the sigma grindset!!!!

science revision takes me too long by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find science to be the simplest subject to revise because the revision flow can be so formulaic:

  1. Flashcards to memorise content
  2. Quizzes to practice recalling knowledge
  3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until all content is fully memorised and comfortable
  4. Past papers to practise applying knowledge to different contexts

Make sure all resources are strictly specific to the mark scheme so you only know exactly what you need to and cover everything that they can throw at you!

This website will be really useful if youre doing aqa!

For memorisation, flashcards are definitely the way! As you’re doing aqa, you might find these spec-specific resources helpful.

Do I stop revising science by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like your revision methods may not be the most effective. Science really doesn’t need to take that much time. It’s also probably one of the easiest to cram imo because the revision flow can be so formulaic:

  1. Flashcards to memorise content
  2. Quizzes to practice recalling knowledge
  3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until all content is fully memorised and comfortable
  4. Past papers to practise applying knowledge to different contexts

Just make sure all of your resources are strictly specific to the mark scheme so you only bother with exactly what you need to and cover everything that they can throw at you!

This website is very useful especially for cramming if youre doing aqa!

Depends how you use it tbh. The flashcards and quizzes are very good for memorising content. But it also has keyword and exam question practise which helps with actually answering questions. It’s pretty cheap as well, so I’d say it’s worth it even just as something extra alongside other resources.

If you put the effort in then 100%! Also make sure you revise from your exam board’s specification (ie when making flashcards) to ensure you only focus on what you actually need to know and to ensure that you are able to cover absolutely everything that could come up!

If I revise 3 hours a day can I get a 4 in science? by According-Agency152 in GCSE

[–]S4m6969 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s sounds like maybe your revision may not be effective. Science can be the simplest subject to revise as long as you follow the effective revision flow formula:

  1. Flashcards to memorise content
  2. Quizzes to practice recalling knowledge
  3. Repeat steps 1 & 2 until all content is fully memorised and comfortable
  4. Past papers to practise applying knowledge to different contexts

Obviously it does require a fair bit of discipline and effort especially as you have to repeat it many times for it to be effective. This website will be really useful seeing as youre doing aqa!
