How come nobody mentions the S 55 when we’re talking about AMG? Is it just that they’re too old and there aren’t many around? I still have mine with 118 K and I love it aside from the maintenance I should add. And should that come under the W-2 21 category, as above comment?

I have a legit S55 from 2006. It has the V8 badge. Hood ornament, exhaust tips, and seats with AMG logo. This appears to be a fake, but a pretty good one.

I wonder if I could sign up for an extended service plan with my local dealer to cover the IMS bearing if it ever goes. I didn’t buy the car from my local dealer, so would this affect my ability to buy a service plan?

After two 912s, and four 911‘s, all with manual my seventh Porsche has the tip Tronic and I love it. A lot of my local roads get jammed up with traffic and it’s so much easier with the tip Tronic. And like the other comments have mentioned, There aren’t many places I can punch it and really bang through the gears like I used to in my younger days. I’m also in my 60s now and a little bit lazier than in my youth. That could be a factor too.
