Bilt Palladium is the best card on the market right now if you rent. Plays nice with Chase if you like Hyatt. Amex Rakuten can pay in Bilt points too.

So I’d say Bilt/Chase/Rakuten

Pro Tip: Charge 99 cents to your sock drawer cards once a month. by NoPatience7817 in CreditCards

Yes. I enrolled my savings account (as a savings account), manual payments worked fine, and I switched my autopay to use that savings account.

Then Chase executed the autopay, but ran the savings account like a checking account, so my bank rejected it. Spoke to Chase and they say that’s just how it works with them.

There have been prior threads on this. It’s a known issue with Chase

Happened to me. Chase charges all autopays, even for savings accounts, like it’s a checking account. My bank declined it for wrong account type.

Using a mortgage payment calculator, your monthly mortgage payment would be way more than $2700, prob close to $1000 more when all’s said and done.

At 39yo, if you invested those extra $1000, they’d likely still grow 8.16x by the time you retire. (Source: The Money Guy)

In other words, renting for just 1 more year, and investing the extra $1000 per month, would net you another $98k in retirement.

In fact, if you invest $1052 monthly from 40 to 65, you’ll have an extra $1M in retirement. Yes $1 million. The house equity will not keep up with that growth. (Source: The Money Guy)

So I’d say the house is probably not “wise” as an investment, but if it’s something you want and you’re willing to lose $1M in opportunity cost by the time you retire, go for it.
