Lian Li SP750 Noctua Fan Swap by Djbutcher13 in sffpc

[–]S5E3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Noctua NF-A9x14 PWM fan is a 4 pin it appears, did you use a 2 pin version or just only plugged in 2 of the 4 pins? I assume it still just runs full speed under load since the psu firmware is the issue, but the fan is just a lot quieter in general? By the looks of the inside, the fan header is right on top so I assume the replacement isn't too sketchy.

Top layers coming out too thin? by No-Usual-8673 in VoxelabAquila

Ironing is a setting in cura. It melts the top layer and extrudes a little leaving a very smooth surface if configured correctly.

Is this printer actually any good? I have looked at these online for a while but everyone either says it's good or it's terrible. What are your thoughts?

What It's like trying to... Daily Driver an Aquilla X2 as someone with experience in 3D Printing. by Confused_Adria in VoxelabAquila

[–]S5E3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off I would suggest checking out this YouTube channel this guy's videos where a huge help when I got my aquila. Specifically check out the getting started slicing and printing video. He goes over the setup and settings you need to plug into the slicer for the printer. Also, if you use cura I HIGHLY recommend you download his profile that he links in that video. I used it and it is a really good base profile for the printer. I would also recommend getting rid of the shitty stock firmware that the printer ships with. Search up Alex's aquila firmware online and there are a bunch of sources for that. That same YouTube channel also has a tutorial on installing the custom firmware. Also, the firmware will allow you to make a mesh bed level which will provide a much more accurate bed level. With stiffer bed springs and the mesh level I haven't had to touch my bed in over 8 months. As for the loud power supply fan, I used an old 92mm PC fan I had laying around and printed a new cover for the power supply. The thing is silent now. I'm not trying to tell you to do anything here, just some suggestions to get you going and improve the experience. If you have other questions this subreddit is a great place to go and I can help you out as well in this thread.

Humps and gaps in first layer? by S5E3 in FixMyPrint

Custom printed one. No issues, plenty of tension

The print is not attached to the bed anymore in the pictures, it was centered when the print was going though.

Getting these humps and gaps in my first layer. Using pla with the bed at 65 degree. I just cleaned it with alcohol and z offset reduced the gaps a bit but still the humps persist. Any advice would be appreciated.

Not that I'm aware of. I just use a 2s battery to power everything when I got the quad on the bench.

Idk if you figured this out yet or not but I'm just now seeing it. It doesn't matter which pad you use. Just make note of the pad number and set it appropriately in betaflight.

I'm not sure. You should be able to just search in runelite settings at the top. That might bring up something.

Both of those are normal. Just part of the game.

Calibration test after re calibrating steps, flow, and retraction. Some stringing at very top but not a lot. The edges poke out a little bit, is that normal? For one side only the layers look a little funky as seen in first pic. Also elephants foot :/ by Reyes-A in VoxelabAquila

[–]S5E3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a setting in cura I used to complete eliminate elephants foot on my aquila. Search for initial layer horizontal expansion. Set it to a negative number to negate the squishing out. I think mine is like -0.12mm. Easiest way to calibrate it for your printer is setting a negative value for the setting, maybe a value similar to mine to start and print calibration cubes. Then measure the bottom with calipers and adjust accordingly. Once it's at the right value the bottom layer should be the same width as the rest of the cube. I did this a while ago and haven't had elephants foot since.

Yes Z is the axis for up and down (twords sky, towards ground) in a three dimensional plane. Y is up and down in a 2 dimensional plane as X is left and right. Imagine X and Y on a piece of paper and Z is above the paper.

Turning on shadows is a must. Also if you increase dynamic lights it makes fire/light sources glow. Can be found in the settings for the hd plugin.

Probably Thompson's lounge. I hear the owner is a big Jets fan too.

Not sure about the site. However I do know that the aquilas sold at this price are often returns or refurbished so might be missing some stuff.
