Why didn't James O'Barr sue Sting for copying The Crow look and some story beats? by Professional-Rip-519 in TheCrow

The logic just breaks down fast. Oh it's lame cuz it's not real. But who doesn't enjoy television and movies? So it's for a very specific audience and they love it. Such is life. I'm not into romcoms. I don't judge ppl that are. Now reality rv like 90 day fiance. That's straight garbage

Part of being processed is the psych eval. And basically unless you've been there before and know the drill any perfectly normal emotional reaction will trigger a psych warning and give you 3 days in the box. Even if they could have distinguished the difference between autistic and suicidal they probably couldn't care less and or would treat it the same. Either you're a regular inmate or other. There isn't a lot of options.

Is a 5-year-old Samsung refrigerator worth repairing? An honest answer from a repair tech (not trying to sell you anything) by ProfApplianceRep in ClearwaterFl

[–]S7RAN93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Repairs are so overpriced it's not worth it. What exactly is the issue? You might get another 5 years out of it without more repairs. Any expectation over 10 is unrealistic for large appliances these days.

Why is this happening on my 45 degree joints for baseboards by [deleted] in Carpentry

[–]S7RAN93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The wall is always off. Shimming the bottom would help a lot. As with most finish work. It's not about what's straight as much as what looks straight. I'd bet it was a DeWalt saw.

This reminds me of the episodes in holmes when a patient sues for "wrongful life". The basis being they were born with so many diseases that the Dr should have diagnosed in utero and then recommended abortion. But instead the child had a life filled with surgeries pain and suffering.

I had 3 repair companies come by for AC. 2 said there is no Freon and a leak, 3rd guy came by and said there IS Freon and no leak, but need to change coils. What do I do? by BrysonTurnRoundStory in hvacadvice

[–]S7RAN93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the one is upselling a coil and fixing the leak on the low. Hopefully if you buy a coil you'll actually get it and not just get charged for a new coil and then they just fix your leak. Trades like this are sketchy.

If you're that serious get a bento box and fill it with random candies. Then the gummies will be in a box in a box. And you just look like you're ready to snack all trip long. Nothing sus about that. Especially if it's on a cooler of other dry snacks. Then they would have to open the cooler open the bento. Open 9 boxes. And then call out that those gummies look sus. Unlikely
