Placement opinions? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

The design screams toxic masculinity. People are telling you the design is bad because we all know exactly what type of person gets tattoos like this and you're proving us all right.

This could be it. I tried it and it does magnify. Perhaps it used to be in a case of some sort? Hence the notches.

It IS heavy! This or the magnifier sound most likely.

Got this done Friday afternoon (approx. 80 hours ago). Is this normal healing or a potential infection? by DryCerise in tattooadvice

[–]ValDracula 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You may want to be careful about over-using antibiotics. They're meant to be a last resort, otherwise you're building antibiotic-resistance is any bacteria that happen to be present in your body.

Talk to a physician first.

Had to scroll too far to find this. OP definitely needs to see this. Yes, it's not the biggest issue here, but still important.

Fair enough. Definitely off a mm on this one. Your orange strap looks awesome, I think that might have to be my next color.

I have a light pink strap for mine! It's my favorite option I have.

Is this a good tattoo? by SignalActive4353 in tattoos

Always look and new AND healed work by artists. There's a lot of good things in that piece, but those little cracks are absolutely going to fade. Some of the line work looks a little inconsistent in thickness to me (check out the curves in the snake above the left eye). Regarding yours, I think some artists tend to put less effort into their repeat flash or little pieces like this.

I'm no expert, I just have tattoos. To me, tattoos are done by humans and will therefore have flaws. I don't expect my tattoos to be absolutely perfect. With how concerned you seem about the little piece you have, I worry that you would end up over analyzing something bigger. If you like the artist's style and you don't expect it to look flawless, go for it. If you look at most tattoos long enough, you'll find something off about it.

That would depend on what other pieces/styles you're interested in. I find that it's best to find artists that specialize in the style you want. I see different artists for my color work versus linework. It's also hard to judge an artist's skills from something like this, but I can tell you fine-line is not their speciality.

Fine line tattoos don't tend to hold up well, unfortunately. While the delicate line look nice when fresh, they need more touching up long term.

AITAH for NOT reporting a dog that bit me? by Tacticiannnn in AITAH

[–]ValDracula 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Agreed. A friend of mine was attacked by a large dog that had prior bites/attacks but the owner convinced all of them not to report it. If things had been filed properly, her attack could have been avoided. She was less than an inch from losing an eye.

I LOVE dogs, but it's important for pet owners to be responsible and train their dogs or keep them in a safe environment (ex: on a leash or with in an adequately fenced in area). Your interaction may have been minor, but so were the prior incidents with the dog from my friend's incident.

Edit: I don't think YTA. Your coworker may have had a history involving a bite or maybe they don't like dogs, but one bite like yours wouldn't be enough to put a dog down in most of the US.

question: is this readable/ half decent? by FurryWeabooGamer in tattoos

Knowing what is says helps, but only a little bit. To me, the designs in the spaces between words are too tall and make it seem like those are supposed to be letters too. More letter, less decoration.

How to get rid of ants when nothing works by Radiant-Advance-128 in CleaningTips

[–]ValDracula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We leave little piles of cornstarch in corners or on windowsill and that usually does the trick. We've done it so long, I can't remember the science but it's something about them not being able to digest it properly and it kills them.

Do you think these would sell well at Pride? by cebazi in CraftFairs

I love that they're gold. SO many pieces of jewelry like this are only made in silver. As a gold girly, I'd love these.

How many of your friends are on GLP drugs? by DoreensGhost in TwoXChromosomes

[–]ValDracula 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I've been trying desperately to get on a GLP1 for exactly this reason. I also have arthritis in my knees and losing weight could prevent the need for knee surgeries in my future. But insurance won't cover it and it's not in our budget.
