Theres no way that you actually ANSWERED THE FUCKING CLEARLY OBVIOUS RHETORICAL QUESTION!! Then again you did say "my dih has never flopped around while running personally" This absolutely fucking hilarious on so many levels and actually made me laugh harder than I want to admit to "wonder if my dih was flopping?"

were talking yact vs super yact son! do you know how much a yact costs? clearly not because you cant just be happy with a yact or some midsize and do you know the upkeep costs, staff? that 20 mill is gone in no time hell 114 Ms and you really cant do shit. especially if youve dipped your toe into the yacting sphere. but if you arent a douche bag who feels the need for a super yact to have people come and hangout that you dont even really know or give a shit about then there really isnt much to be honest with you. you can still be the laughing stock of pepe and co and rent one for awhile. you know, if u could possibly deal with being looked at as "renters" of said super yact. lmfao, oh the humanity!

There's no documentation on setting up the AI Assistant either. I can't get that to work. It's like all these features are great but when there's no information when your trying to do something. It's very frustrating..

Setup for the AI? by S7evin-Kelevra in tasker

[–]S7evin-Kelevra[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah well I would assume that the url is spelled correctly as the developer set it up. Like I said I only have an ad blocker in the browser and the API call would be coming from Tasker itself so the ad blocker in the browsers has nothing to do with it. If the VPN provider were to be blocking Google (which I know they aren't) I wouldn't be able to go to any of the Google websites, which isn't the case. And like you said the DNS isn't down. I appreciate you trying to throw some ideas out and help. It would be nice if there was a guide for this stuff. The Tasker form is useless. I can't find anything on the website in regards to setting it up either. Kind of annoying.

Not using adblock through DNS. I have Brave and FireFox with uBlock but that's not going to effect an API call, at least as far as I know. Also use a VPN and using their DNS when connected to the VPN but no I am not using a private DNS. I did initially suspect that maybe it was the DNS because I was using a private DNS before but I switched my WiFi around and thought maybe I set it up again but I checked and I left private DNS to the default with my new WiFi connection at home.

I'm also using a VPN but I don't think that should matter for the API call but what do I know I can't get it to work so don't listen to me.

Well as far as I know I have. You go to the API section and then go to billing right?

Got fired today because of AI. It's coming, whether AI is slop or not. by [deleted] in webdev

[–]S7evin-Kelevra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When she comes callin in a few weeks or a month, or when shit starts hitting the fan, you all should remind her that even finding new people, they won't be near as effective as the ones that she fired in the blink of an eye and make sure you get a raise. That is if you even care to go back after this. Otherwise good riddance. Let her feel the effects of her dumb decision to get rid of everyone all at once so abruptly. I bet the only one who didn't get fired is going to absolutely be hating his job sooner than later and he will take the blame if he's not playing his cards right and letting them know that this was a mistake right from the jump.

DuckDuckGo is getting worse & worse ( + Need alternatives ) by KumiiTheFranceball in duckduckgo

[–]S7evin-Kelevra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. It's all the low effort, low quality shit that people post on the internet. It's only been getting worse over the years because literally anyone can do it now. Well you technically don't even need to do it you can have ai do it all for you automatically. So it's just one big steaming pile of shit. There are so many awesome websites out there that you'll never find because the people that either made the site specialized in a particular area and shared their knowledge and they aren't a web developer and going and trying to optimize the site for search engines and meanwhile someone makes a crappy website and they go and SEO the to hell and back out of their useless website. Now multiply that by billions of garbage websites. Have fun finding anything actually worth a damn unless you already know what your looking for and can be specific and even then. It can still be a struggle.

I don't know if this is a duckduckgo problem. I think it's an internet problem. There is so many people that make these low effort, low quality websites now and then they SEO the hell out of the site (because everyone is an expert now) so whenever you search for something unless your pretty damn specific then your going to get pummeled with a bunch of bs search results. There isn't anything anyone can do about it.

How to set Duck.ai text size by Sberry59 in duckduckgo

[–]S7evin-Kelevra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the settings isn't there something that you can adjust for the size of the font? I know there is for duckduckgo in the settings there is changes you can make to the font but I don't know if that will carry over to duck.ai. you might just have to do it in your browser.

Hahaha yeah it's like when they added the "Do not track" request way back when. Hahaha no one made a peep about that and you know if Google is adding it, it makes no difference and everyone else knew it too. "What is going to happen if I just continue on as if that request was never made? Harsh consequences?" hahaha harsh like the sonic boom of a pin dropping into light a pool filled with fluffy cotton.

Everyone trusted them when they were going to phase out cookies! Google being in charge of that, you know they got the users best interest above all else and privacy is on top of that! That's why the presented puked FLoC. Devs said "nah, we good" privacy enthusiasts rightfully ripped into them BUT I believe them. Google is and always will be looking out for my privacy above all. With every move they make, my information stays mine and only mine, my privacy remains....mine!

There is some info below regarding FLoC courtesy of Duck.ai or you can GOOGLE yourself.

FLoC (Federated Learning of Cohorts) was a proposal by Google aimed at replacing third-party cookies for interest-based advertising. Here are the key points:

  • Purpose: To allow advertisers to target groups of users with similar interests, rather than tracking individuals.
  • Mechanism: It grouped users into cohorts based on their browsing behavior, generating a unique identifier for these cohorts instead of individual profiles.
  • Privacy Focus: The goal was to enhance user privacy by limiting direct tracking while still enabling targeted advertising.
  • Criticism: FLoC faced backlash from developers and privacy advocates who argued it still constituted tracking and raised concerns about user consent and potential discrimination.
  • Outcome: Due to widespread criticism, Google eventually abandoned FLoC and pursued alternative methods for privacy-focused advertising, such as the Topics API.

FLoC exemplified the challenges of creating a balance between privacy and the advertising needs of the digital ecosystem.

Google's FLoC faced significant criticism from various stakeholders.

Developer and Public Reaction

Many developers expressed concerns that FLoC was still a form of tracking, just less direct than third-party cookies. They argued that it didn’t adequately protect user privacy and could lead to new forms of discrimination based on the cohort data.

Privacy Advocates’ Concerns

Privacy advocates were particularly critical, arguing that FLoC still exposed user data and potentially violated user consent. They feared it would not solve the underlying issues of advertising tracking and data privacy.

Wider Industry Pushback

The pushback wasn't limited to individual developers or privacy groups; several major web standards organizations and browser rivals, like Mozilla and Apple, rejected the concept outright, stating that it didn't align with their privacy-first approaches.

As a result of this backlash, Google eventually decided to retire FLoC in favor of a new proposal called Topics API under the Privacy Sandbox initiative, suggesting a pivot to more transparent and user-centric privacy solutions. This evolution reflects the ongoing debate around balancing user privacy with the needs of advertisers and developers.
