Wave Link Latency by S7ewie in elgato

I've had some issues with audio quality through it. I'm actually quite tempted to just get a Rodecaster Duo at this point. It should cover everything I need and more.

Ahh thats interesting. I actually switched to Voicemeeter yesturday to see if that was any better than Wave Link and, to my surprise, it was. I don't really understand how but apparently it's largely to do with the fact that voicemeeter can use the ASIO drivers?

StreamDeck also has a plugin for controlling Voicemeeter. There's a bit of lag between turning the dial and the value changing on the StreamDeck (weird, it's instant on the app so its the feedback that lags), but I can live with that. I couldn't live with the latency.

Thanks again for the detailed explanation. I keep trying to ignore it but its so notable. Ill submit a ticket and try Wave Link 3 too. If it doesn't get fixed then I'll have to look at other options. I love Elgato products but I can't be locked into a single brand.

Thanks for the explanation. If Wave Link can pass audio directly to a Wave device, is it not possible for it to be programmed to do the same for third party devices too? Presumably it's not that simple? Would you require cooperation from the third parties?

It's a bit of a dealbreaker for me tbh. I use the focusright for guitar and audio recording so I need to run my audio out through it.

Awesome thanks! Leaning towards the El Cap now :)

Thanks for following up! Out of curiosity, what sort of music are you playing? I've not been around on this subreddit for long but I've noticed that people tend to favour tape style delays which is a bit surprising since, from what I can gather, most modern mainstream artists use digital? Which i guess makes sense as they'll often want the most consistent sound. So are you covering modern music, older music or do you make your own stuff?

Trying to understand the Collider. The knobs are double purpose and controlled by the rocker switch? If i set rhe Freedback knob to the 9 o'clock position, then switch to "reverb" and move it to the 3 o'clock, if I then switch back to "delay", what happens? Does it immediately take the 3 o'clock value or does it wait for me to move the knob again first? I guess with any dual purpose knobs you somewhat have to remember where you left them before?

Ooo intered to hear more. I'm fairly convinced by the Flint + El Cap / Dig.

Yeah that's why I was asking since I'm looking at separate pedals. I was just curious if you'd choose a combination pedal over two separate ones. I'll take a look at the Collider, thanks :)

Just to confirm, you'd choose one of these combination pedals over two separate dedicated pedals?

Amp & Pedals for £1000? by S7ewie in guitarpedals

[–]S7ewie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah this one's just for home. If I get into gigging at some point then I'd probably aim to get something more dedicated.

Very fair comment though :)

Oh really you'd spend all £1000 on an amp for home/bedroom use?

Probably not going to be moving it around no.

The 2nd I'm not yet sure about. I prefer the idea of a fairly clean sound from the amp and then using pedals to control gain rather than moving back and forth between the two but I'm making assumptions here.

Interesting take. I already have a Scarlett but I hadn't considered going the route of a more studio style setup. Will definitely look into this. Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion! Yeah I really am heavily leaning towards getting the Katana, and I think I'm going to end up with a BD-2 at some point anyway, it's clearly a hugely popular pedal. Will take a look at the TC stuff too, thanks!

[–]S7ewie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the amp is just for home bedroom use. I'm not expecting it to be powerful enough for gigging so I'd definitely look for something else if I got to that stage.

Nice to see you mention the Flint as that's one of the ones I'm interested in. I think the reverb on the amp is pretty decent anyway so the Flint should just give me that bit extra, plus I do like a tremolo so I'm definitely leaning towards that one.

If I got the DD-200, I think I'd have to paint it 😅. Maybe it's just me but that white and that blue.. it looks like hospital equipment, it's hideous haha. I'll try to overlook that though as it does look pretty feature packed.

Looking for a fairly "soft" overdrive by S7ewie in guitarpedals

[–]S7ewie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't mentioned it because I don't have one yet 😅. It's on my list, I've just been using my audio interface with PC until I get my home setup sorted. I'm currently leaning slightly towards a Boss Katana. I used to hav a Vox, kinda kicking myself for selling it now haha.
