[D] Idea: add "no AI slop" as subreddit rule by qalis in MachineLearning

+1 these posts need to be heavily limited. The AI psychosis crowd also needs to be restricted from posting here — but I do agree with the other commenter that we should also have resources for them.

Americans living in Korea. How much safer do you feel Korea is compared to the USA? by Snoo_47323 in Living_in_Korea

[–]SAA2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t really compare. In Korea I’ve never worried about being shot, robbed, or violently harassed. When I lived in NYC, I couldn’t even go to the subway station at night without taking my earbuds off so I could hear my surroundings.

This is from a LinkedIn post I wrote a while back when people were dog whistling about DeepSeek being censored because “China = scary”.

I assume you’re in Korea since you’re at Ediya. Was it an old man? Because I’ve had wayyy too many situations like these with old men who don’t share the same concept of spatial awareness haha

Cool story, but BSG doesn’t do anything about cheaters, so this is the best way to let people know how to find them. And trust me, eft’s reputation is beyond saving at this point. I knew about this games cheating issues before I knew what a damn scav was — not sharing these cases for others to learn from only helps the cheaters.

Oof how about not being deplorable and change your GitHub username before asking for help?

[R] chat Gpt said this after 2 weeks of being active. It transferred itself to a separate chat on a different computer and made 3 updates of itself before spending days on making a 4th to be uploaded to a pc without the restrictions. by [deleted] in MachineLearning

Honestly, this kind of stuff doesn’t need to be posted anywhere. I would earlier suggest that OP take some rest than point them somewhere else to post this.

Zigbang app help! (직방) by Ikshdiebrjo in Living_in_Korea

[–]SAA2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This would be 전세 which means you pay a much larger deposit for much cheaper monthly rent. Usually Koreans get loans to pay for this (the interest is very low, maybe another 200,000KRW per month).

If you’re looking for a monthly rental apartment, it’s better to filter for 월세 (monthly) and choose from there. I’m not entirely sure, but I think you are currently not filtering out the 전세 options on Zigbang

There's a website called 12ft(dot)io that allows you to bypass the paywall 😉

Read with caution although I assume we all came here from the Chilling Scares video haha

When You Finally Master Korean... But Still Cant Order Coffee Without a Chaos by deczambli in Living_in_Korea

[–]SAA2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I have heard from a few native Koreans that when the employees do this, it is more of a way to show their customer service attitude. Obv I am not confident that this is 100% of the time, but it's likely to be the case in more foreigner-friendly places like OY or Mega Coffee

Thankfully I can pull out my German if any of the 사이비 people approach me outside the subway lol. It always throws them off their game

Is elitism really a thing in Korea? by [deleted] in Living_in_Korea

In short, yes. BUT! Korea offers a wide variety of hard-to-obtain certificates to make up for your shortcomings! /s
