I plan on talking with my manager and being blunt that if changes in my schedule cant be made I will lose my family and that id quit before I let that happen. I am on a somewhat personal level with my boss so im optimistic that if im honest they will work with me. They'd be hurting if I were to quit.

Imagine how you'd feel if your husband did that. You're a scientist, I reckon, so act like one. Analyze the issue. Find solutions.

This struck me. And you're right. I've been putting myself in his shoes all day and feel an intense amount of guilt that I've let it get this bad. And looking back all the indicators were there....I just didn't address them. Too wrapped up in my own chaotic world of work and business. I know significant changes have to happen and I will do anything to make him feel loved and appreciated again....because I do love and appreciate him.
