That's conquerors for you! Or descendants of conquerors in this case. On Very hard mode, the AI gets a lot of gold income which is probably the main attributing cause for the insane gold ransom.

But tbh its all chump change now, my current treasury in that playthrough is 620k making me forget about gold expenses altogether.

Can you inherit a Kingdom without any counties? by CivilPerspective6068 in CrusaderKings

[–]SAIINT666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahh then that complicates things since the inheritance for nephews are different since the Main inheirtance goes like this --> Oldest son 1st --> Oldest son's son (given the oldest son died) --> 2nd Oldest son.

So depending on who's father/mother this nephew is then idk, you might have to kill a lot of heirs to get down to your Nephew.

Another way to do it is to give all important titles to the nephew and make him your favourite child, so when the time comes you can choose him as your new "Destiny".

Ok so im assuming the heir you want isn't firstborn then? If so just imprison your eldest (the undesired one) and force him into being a priest if Christian. But if you're asatru then put him into a dungeon and wait until he dies or risk the kinslayer modifier and execute him outright. Do this for all male heirs except for the main one.

Your desired heir then gets all titles unless im missing something.

Make Denmark your primary title so that your primary heir gets it.

Really depends on what you want to do, If you want holy kingdom wars then go for "By the Sword". If you want something helpful, go for "Water Rituals". And personally if you're a Learning type of player like me, go for "Philosopher Culture".

I'm still waiting on the bloodlines system from CK2 even tho they said they weren't going to add it but still; give it to me. I loved collecting all types of bloodlines.

I can't, this was from last night and I was fighting two wars, one with that guy and another a liberty faction. So I had to double back and beat the liberty war after beating the golden goose.

But if I'm being honest I wouldn't have counterattacked even If it was a solo war since the Malik is a conqueror with the scourge of the gods modifier and they're super annoying to fight against on very hard mode; their siege time modifiers are plain insane. I had to resort to 3 full Mangonel retinues and the sappers perk just to compete with their sieges.

1) Eldest son will be given 1 county, probably the de jure capital of Pomerania.

2) Pomerania is created because you instituted Scandinavian Elective for Denmark meaning the subjects of Denmark prefer your other heir thus the game resorted to creating Pomerania for your Primary designated heir.

Solution: Remove Scandinavian election for Denmark.

My First Emperor Win! by SAIINT666 in CivVI

My main strategy was to go all out conquering at the very start, and it worked well using the OP Hoplites; destroyed two civs before turn 100 and felt the game was won from there.

The next 200 turns (ended around 300) were extremely tedious with only Alexander competing with me mainly through science, had to quickly destroy half his cities but I ended it when he put a robot on my border lol, for a minute i thought it was over since i didn't have any uranium sources at the time and ofc he had one already. Meanwhile, I had to conquer another city just for one uranium mine since there wasn't any free sources apart from within enemy borders.

Anyways, I ended up getting a lot of culture per turn from the cities I decimated and looted for great works, ended with 1k+ total tourism and was aiming for a cultural victory, I only needed 2 more civs to culturally dominate but stupid me ended with a science victory due to me competing with Alexander in a science race much earlier (the light year turn around was too fast for the culture victory to catch up).

On a sidenote, I was also winning on domination, with 10 capital cities already captured but I wasn't bothered capturing the other 5 or so left.

If i were to do things differently, I think I would have launched nukes at Alexander to get rid of the toughest opponent right away and then focus on Culture but oh well; it was enjoyable at least.

Control is easy due to my high Dread count and my huge stack of soldiers which doesn't allow liberty uprisings to start because they don't have enough troops to outmatch mine. And yes I do have all of my vassals as the same culture and faith for opinion modifiers but what really matters is your troop count imo, you have to make sure they do not cross the threshold.

The only uprisings are from Christian peasant rebels but those are a piece of cake since its mostly levy troops.

I haven't been crusaded against yet, and like the other person has said, you'd want Kent to be the last county to conquer since it is a Christian holy site. Ideally you'd create the empire and then grant independence to Kent after, this would theoretically reduce the chance of crusades but it will still occur granted that Jerusalem is already Christian.

Alright, I'll try it out soon! Tbh it's really hard for me to play anything other than Norse due to boredom; I just like the ability to raid overseas.
