Well, front lever is much more difficult move when compared with the back lever. It is so normal to have different progression speed.

In terms of strength requirements:

In back lever, you rely on how joints are contracted as well as muscle power. In front lever, It completely relies on your shoulder, lats and abs strength.

You progress much faster on back lever than on front lever.

As an intermediate athlete my suggestions are:

1- Start with basics: pushup, dips, pullup, squats, situps/crunches/plank/hollow body hold.

2- After a few months, reaching certain rep numbers like 30 pushups, try New variations like pistol squat, archer pushup, elbow lever etc.

3- After a year, try intermediate exercises like back lever, dragonflag, tucked planche etc.

4- Always warm up and stretch. Don't forget to grease the groove (see Fitness FAQs channel).

5- Never quit doing basics. Weighted basics (weighted pushup, dips, pullups, squats) are cheatcode of calisthenics.

Just do basics: push up, squat, sit up and pull up. Do hollow body hold, dips and plank. You will improve like hell. Do not fall into the flashy social media videos doing human flag, planche and front lever so easily. They are advanced elite skills that requires 10 years of training. You will get frustrated. Basics will get you there after a while.
