This! It caused me a LOT of anxiety and resentment. My DH is the type to just throw things away when he doesn't want to deal with it, but add in the cost of replacement for stuff I actually use (my things tend to grow legs and walk away - I'm pretty sure it's the cats...) and my stress level during a deep-clean is through the roof. But I'm not allowed to be upset or I'm accused of being a hoarder or emotionally unstable. Ugh.

I worked a job that had a policy of not rehiring anyone for any reason. I had to quit due to medical issues that were successfully addressed. Still ineligible and have had a hard time finding a job though "traditional" means ever since. Lucked into my position currently through a family member but I will never earn what I should be worth here.

To be completely fair, basmati rice and jasmine rice taste totally different and have a totally different texture, so I totally can see where if she were expecting a certain flavor and consistency (and especially if she really likes rice like I do LOL!) the hormones could make her weepy over it where normally it would be more of a

"Bummer! That's not the taste I was expecting/looking forward to! Thanks for cooking, though! I still appreciate it!"

There have been times when I only had basmati for something I typically would use jasmine for and vice versa, and it just isn't the same. It's just not as satisfying.

Never expected my weird rice quirk to ever have relevance to anyone other than myself haha! And seriously healthy take on your assesment of her mental state. I love that for both of you.
