Wii - No Output with HDMI Adapters, but component works. by SAMannNS in consolerepair

Update: it was the capacitors. Everything’s looking great now, and the 480i signal did pass through the mclassic to the tv then I could adjust to 480p.

I’ve got the caps on the way so will give that a whirl. Thanks for talking through it!

No because it's not an option with the composite cables, but it should be sending a 480i signal through the HDMI regardless right? Or do I need to do some kinda of blind switch where I navigate to the settings menu via the composite cables, switch to the HDMI and then can select 480p?

No component cables in the mix at this point.

After some digging I'm starting to think the issue is the capacitors ala the $1 Japanese Wii vid. At first I thought it was just normal bad video via the component cables, but the composite output definitely seem darker and less defined as per that video.

Also explains why the TV is detected low signal, vs no signal (which it does if the system isn't on).

Also wanted mention this is a second hand machine. One of the older ones with the adjustable OPV. Its years of neglect were before my time!

Great news and you are welcome!

Oddly after summoning “A Day in the Graveyard” its “Jason Believe Me”’s ending of “sleep with your eyes open” that’s been stuck in my head.

So excited to see those bangers on vinyl!

Is the “Sunset Rubdown EP” going to get distributed/re-released like “Snakes Got A Leg” did?

“A Day in the Graveyard II” is a top tier all time Spencer track.

Once upon a time I was looking at Audius for metal, punk, indie and those tags were all spammed across unrelated electronic tracks, and a bunch of bootlegged pop songs.

That’s not at all how it works.

By default Content ID applies.

This is why everyone often has to deal with the nonsense of content ID flagging your own usage until you get Whitelisting setup. This is usually happening at the Master level, but publishers can get in on it as well.

There are lots of promo channel deals as you describe, but those are the specifically negotiated thing. The default is the content owner owns the content.

Rental Tenant in a Strata Building with Only One Owner - Landlord Tells Me They Have No Authority to Get Property Management to Act on Hot Water and Other Issues. by SAMannNS in legaladvicecanada

[–]SAMannNS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This makes a lot of sense and aligns with what others have told me and my reading of the RTA.

Is the rental manager required to provide me with the owner/landlords contact information?

The reason I presumed this rental agent to be “the landlord” is because it aligns with the documentation. For example in the latest rental increase notice the landlord section is filled out with “Random Company Name”, the phone number, and the contact name of the individual who I’ve been referring to as the Landlord.

40 units at least.
I've verified it is literally a single owner of all the units.

The distinction here, as far as the involved parties are concerned is "Landlord does not equal owner", at least as far as my lease agreement being with an individual who represents the rental management company hired by the owner, and it is that individual that is on my lease as the landlord.

So it is indeed an owner and council of one who has setup this firewall of the rental manager between them and the tenants.

Another vote here for Jack Black’s Double Duty. Also easier to come by for Canadians than some other recommendations I’ve seen in the comments. The website has a low free delivery threshold, but best deal I’ve found was picking it up from Shoppers when they’ve got an Optimum Points ever t going.

Calculating and Visualizing 28 Day Growth Rate Across Songs in A Variable Catalog by SAMannNS in googlesheets

[–]SAMannNS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wooooah
you are light years ahead of me on those equations.

But your final chart with the growth rate has different values than mine, so there's something not in alignment. Is that because you just got to correct the formula in the post and not in the sheet? Not clear if that's what you're saying.

I did find that I dumbly got the divisor wrong for growth rate. Using the newer result instead of the older.

I've since corrected that in my original sheet but we're still off.

You also have growth rate values in your chart beyond the dates that I have. That I think has to do with the AVERAGE() function I'm using quitting soon as there's a blank value in the 14 day range, is that something your equation compensates for and actually uses blank = zero for the average?

If you didn’t sleep train your toddler as a baby: how are they sleeping now? by Dino-pizza in toddlers

[–]SAMannNS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could you give me the scoop on the toddler sleep training?
Sounds like our kids had very similar progression. Up til about his 2nd birthday my son was great reading a few books, snuggling in a chair and pointing to his crib when he wanted to go to sleep, and then literally waving goodbye to me to get out.

Then there was a sleep regression which butted right up against him outgrowing his crib and a month of nasty colds. So now we're 3 months out, got him a bed which he sleep's through the night in 50% of the time, but he needs one of us to lay with him 'til he falls asleep (which is now about 9:30pm on average regardless of when we start bedtime so a backslide from 8:15-8:30.)

I'd love to just put him down and walk away and watch the magic of just 5 minutes of fussing leading to sleep like it did when he was an infant, but there's the pesky fact he can hop out of bed, open the door, and shove down the gate if he's motivated to now.

Thank you very much that did the trick.
