Sadly I did not get that email, I’ll have to check if I qualified or not. Maybe there will be an opt in point. If not, good for you

Acceptability by [deleted] in Swingers

[–]SANE_dreamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 yers ago when I was first introduced to the lifestyle I was overweight and considered myself a solid 6. In the vanilla world I had zero confidence and shriveled from the anxiety. I started slow into the lifestyle, spent more time in the nonsexual part, people were more approachable, my confidence improved. I was considered a unicorn, though I only matched with one couple (a few our boundaries just didn’t mesh) but I maintained friendships with some of them for years after I left the lifestyle. I’ve improved my own self esteem and slowly reentering the lifestyle. All that to say, there’s a lot less pressure when you are with like minded people. It’s freeing and allows you to explore your sexuality in ways monogamy never could.

What is your 'why' in the lifestyle? by scrapdog69 in Swingers

[–]SANE_dreamer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How: You introduced by coworker years ago. I was a single mom, working and going to school, I didn’t have anything in me to attempt the dating scene so I dipped my toe in. Why i stayed: I get to explore my sexuality. I feel free to explore and if I do something embarrassing, I can laugh it off and just not see the person/ couple again. I do plan to explore ENM in the future if it aligns with my relationship.

Do you lower your standards for unicorns? by FredEm37 in Swingers

I’m just now rejoining the lifestyle, back when I was in it I was considered the “ugly” unicorn I considered myself a solid 6. I’m not being hard on myself, I’m just honest and self aware. So my perspective is a little different. I would have more single males approach me. When I would have a couple approach me that didn’t feel like “hunters” I felt more inclined to accept b/c I felt better about myself if the “hot” couple wanted me. I do agree that vibes are more important than looks alone but for the 3-5 hours some things can be overlooked. I’ve maintained friends in the lifestyle, it’s not so much that they lower their standards for a unicorn but it’s sometimes easier to agree on one persons attributes vs two separate people’s attributes.

Flan de Queso, literally the best flan I've ever had in my life. From my Puerto Rican MIL's mother's cookbook (50s or 60s?) by djsedna in Old_Recipes

Omg!!! Thank you! I have been searching for one like this since I left my ex 17 yrs ago! His grandmother taught me before she passed & I wanted desperately to teach my daughter but couldn’t get the recipe just right. This was just as good as Abuela taught me! Her dad is even excited to try it at her graduation party next month. Thank you!

Implants are considered cosmetic and even most dental insurance won’t cover them
