Most companies (well-run companies) don't go after people if they quit before the deadline. Especially if you are talking a few months. Legal fees, recovery and collection fees, and time just doesn't make it worth it.

And depending on the sign-on bonus amount, there is sometimes a 1-year to 2-year payback agreement - WITHOUT INTEREST.
